I recently used the find friends function to connect my blog to my Facebook page. Now the blog is showing 1,008 followers - which are all just really Facebook fans. I'd like to disconnect it so I can just see the actual blog readers/followers, but I can't figure out how to do that. Help?

We have to enable that by using Publicize, Networked Blogs or RSS Graffiti. Are you using the Facebook like box widget found here > Appearance . Widgets? By some means, I don't know which you have initiated this. Whatever it was you now have to disconnect.

If you want to opt out from any of the Publicize services for a specific post, just click the Publicize Edit link. You can then uncheck whichever services you want. http://en.support.wordpress.com/publicize/

Unless another Volunteer posts an answer for you, note that Staff have deactivated the support link until early Monday 29th August (UTC). When it's activated again you can contact them for help.

(Mainly because of the gigantic ads that suddenly appear on my posts for various political causes -- I really don't want to serve up ads against oil sands. I don't really have anything against oil sands personally.)

So how do I turn it off? I found the checkbox that is permanently next to each new post and I can uncheck it from there. But it's back on by default. Will I have to uncheck the box for every new post I do forever, or is there a way to turn it off?
