Count me in. :)

I've said before that I think all themes on WordPress.com should support as many common features as possible. It's a shame if I can't switch to another theme only because of one missing feature.

Why not investing some more developer time in achieving feature parity between most themes before adding new themes all the time?

For example I would like to see that every theme on WordPress.com supports Post Formats.

It would be great if we can enable/disable the option to show the author of a post in all themes. At this time it is theme-specific.

Panos has a good post about this:
http://wpbtips.wordpress.com/2009/08/15/author-displayed-or-not/

But many people are asking in the forums where you can switch on/off the option to display the author. How about adding this option in every theme to customize the blog?

Kind regards
Torsten

Dear all, I am quite new here so please forgive me. I have setup my blog using the Hemingway design. Very nice template. In some way I can't get my name under an post or article. It just doesn't appear anywhere. I have checked my settings (in my user profile) and they are okay. Also, if I select my name to check posts written, It generates actually everyting I wrote. So my question is: how do I get 'author name' under (or visable) in my post.
And yes, I have spent a few hours to check this great forum but in some way I can't find the answer. Thank everyone!

Are you hosted at wordpress.com?

If you are then it's theme dependent. You don't have the ability to change that here.

If you are self-hosted (not at wp.com) then it is possible but you need to be asking at wordpress.org.

I'm using WordPress as a back end to a multi-user blog I'm creating. I pull and sort the rss feeds onto the main page of my site using Feed2JS. However, when the feeds appear in their respective sections I can't seem to figure out a way to display the author name, which is quite important when having this multi-user blog.

Does anyone know how to retrieve and display the author names next to the headline from the wordpress rss feed?
