Some of the limitation is in the Paypal buttons! Only the simple, "Buy Now" button & simple "Donate" button works with WordPress that I've seen. The reason they work is because they give a specific https link to put 'behind' the image in the image widget. Are you trying to put the html code into the widget or the reference link for the image? you can only put a real link in it. That is why I can't use the more sophisticated Paypal buttons- most of them require the implementation of html!

How are you connecting to the internet and to WordPress.com? The way you connect to the internet (mobile, satellite, DSL, dial-up) and to your blog, and how many proxy server jumps etc. it takes to connect can cause problems.
Are you using http:// or are you using https:// see http://en.support.wordpress.com/https/
Exactly which browser and version of it are you using? If you don’t know click here to find out > http://whatsmyuseragent.com/
Have you tried clearing your browser cache and cookies? http://www.google.com/support/accounts/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=32050
Is your browser version up to date? You can upgrade any browser version here. http://browsehappy.com/
Have you tried using the browser with all extensions or add-ons disabled?

Do you have another browser you can try?

Thanks Susan - I'm messing around with it, but I still can't make it work. I copied the image widget areas here. I can get the email link from pay pay to stay in the
Link URL (when the image is clicked) area.

But - well -now I'm just pasting stuff everywhere because I'm so frustrated and nothing is working. I finally got the word "Donate" to show up, but with no button or link. II think I'm just giving up -but thanks for the attempt to help - I appreciate it!

Hey, I feel ya. But I think I have the answer. You need to use the image widget! You upload your Donate image and there is a spot in the upload form for the link. Just put the link there for the Donate button and Wha-Lah! It works perfectly! I know, because I just did it! Susan

I followed the directions, to the letter, using

It worked great.
I added the text widget, but I don't know how to get the info from blog post (only in draft form currently) into the text widget so that is shows up in the side bar.

Specifically, when I go to cut and paste the Donate image into the text widget, I get the donate image fine, but there is no link, and the link shows up below it in html.

I know there have been lots of question about the donate button - I've read most of them - but I haven't found a solution for this other than telling people to reread the instructions. Like I said, the instructions are great, but I don't see specifically how to get the info in the widget.

Hi there

I've tried to load my blog (http://lighthouseenglish.wordpress.com) from my computer and other computers. No luck.

Also, I can navigate everything on the dashboard apart from 'Pages'. As with my blog page it loads empty but with 'Done' in the bottom left on the bar.

Things went wrong when I was attempting to use the hierarchy option for pages. I could get it to work and then shortly afterwards I got these problems.

I'd really appreciate someone's help/advice on this.
