I'm writing because I exported my wordpress.com blog as xml to import into my self hosted wordpress blog. When I imported the XML as a WordPress import, as directed by the instructions, 2 weird things happen:

1. some of the posts get imported twice, the latter import with no images

2. some of the posts have fuzzy images, or the images are corrupt, though they're all perfect on my wordpress.com site.

I'm not sure what's happening here, but I'd love any assistance you can provide.

I think it is happening when I try to update a post. It gives me the message I have mentioned before. After that I can't even go to the blog's dashboard. Hours later it's fine again until I edit a post and then the same problem all over again.

I just wanted to add that after the last time I wrote here, the blog worked for a few hours up to now. During that time I was both able to change things (themes and so) and see the blog until just now when I actually created a post and when I published it the message that saying the blog doesn't exist appeared again. Problem is this time I can't even access that blog's dashboard anymore. So I just wanted to update that it seems to be working intermittently.

I intended it to be hannymoralesphotography.wordpress.com but somehow it appeared to me as hannymoralesphotography.signup.wordpress.com (with the word signup) when I was creating it and then when I tried to view it a warning appeared saying that there was something wrong with the page that I was trying to view and that it seemed to be other website trying to look as wordpress (I can't remember the actual words but it looked like as if a phishing scam had been detected). So I thought maybe I had gone to another website by accident so I created another blog this time making sure it was hannymoralesphotography.wordpress.com and had no problems. But then afterwards both blogs appeared in my dashboard so I proceeded to delete the one with the word signup in it. I did this successfully and than carried on modifying the other. Today I wanted to modify it further but when I clicked on the link to see the actual blog to see how it looked I got the message saying :
"hannymoralesphotography.wordpress.com is no longer available. The authors have deleted this blog."
So does this mean that by deleting hannymoralesphotography.signup.wordpress.com I also deleted the other? But if this is the case then how come I can still edit the blog?

I am new to WordPress, only one week in and loving it!

I added a second links widget for a select group (contributing authors,) and in the process I also accidentally somehow duplicated my original blogroll. Now I have the 'blogroll' links displayed on my site twice, and I can't seem to get rid of the duplication because when I go through my dashboard to edit/remove the duplicated blogroll/links I see only one of each.

I suspect that this somehow happened as I manually tried to drag the new (shorter) links bar to appear above the old (longer) links bar in the edit/add widget area (that didn't work in any event.)

I am terrified that if I delete the blogroll from my dashboard I am inadvertently going to actually loose it altogether (instead of only loosing the duplicated 'ghost' blogroll.)

How do I remove the duplicated 'ghost' blogroll from my site without loosing the original blogroll in the process?
