Deactivate all browser add-ons and extensions, run a full computer scan, and then log into your blog again without activating any browser add-ons or extensions and see if the links disappear or not.

I have never seen this other than this one time but am very concerned and would like to understand how this can happen. Cookies?

I specifically pay to eliminate ads from my site via WP. Any thoughts?

I explained to you yesterday what "anchor text" was. It can be the title of a post. However, please let me caution you about inserting links into comments. The default setting for the number of links allowed in a comment is 2 but we bloggers can all change that number if we are fool hardy enough to so do. ;)

Here's the format:
<a href="http://">INSERT_ANCHOR_TEXT </a>

Once I deleted the punctuation, I found it.

When you put the links in, using the Visual editor you select "Open in new window" in the pop-up TinyMCE box, it's the middle line of the three. If you're using the HTML editor instead, in the link code you include

target="_blank"
