You need to create a custom menu in Appearance > Menus, and select that menu from the "Secondary Menu" pulldown in the Theme Locations module.

Hallo,

I have just installed Mixfolio on my Desktop to test it.

In the demo pagethere is a very useful "recent work" breadcrumb which appears.

In my installation, this feature is not present, out of the box, and I cannot find the "switch" to turn it on.

I would appreciate your help.

Comments on all pages and posts on every WordPress blog are enabled by default so that means you disabled them on the posts you refer to.

This page > Settings > Discussion
Discussion settings is where you set up defaults for comments.

We can also override the default settings and enable or disable future comments on any individual post or page.

Note: By default, new blogs on WordPress.com will have the Discussion hidden. I can't find a way to allow comments on all of my posts. They seem to be enabled on the first post but not the subsequent two. I have looked and looked for a solution but can't find one. I've checked the discussion - posts settings and they all seem fine. Can anyone help me please?

P.S. The theme change to Able made no difference. They were already open when I checked the blog before that.

I can verify that comments are open on your blog. The way the comments function is coded into the core of WordPress and we cannot change this. Unless you use P2, a twitter-like theme, comments are collapsed on the front page of your blog where our posts are "showcased". By clicking the post title or the comments link the posts on the front page open on their own page where all comments display.

The reason for this structure is that in a new blog one does not have many posts or comments. In an established blog if the comments did not collapse on the front page it would become a mile long in no time flat and page loading time is a page ranking factor. We have only seconds before visitors refuse to wait and click out.

When I look at my blog I don't see a place to comment.

I thought comments were enabled by default.
The Help says to go to Settings>Discussions to manage comments.

When I go to settings, I don't see Discussions listed.

By default all Wordpres blog have open comments on all pages and posts. if you disabledthem you can enbale them again across the whole blog or individually on some pages and/or posts. This page > Settings > Discussion

Not a theme-dependent issue.

Changes in Settings>Discussion apply to posts you create after the change. For already published posts, go to Posts > All Posts, hover under the post title, click Quick Edit, tick the options "Allow Comments" and "Allow Pings", click Update.

Also, too much scrolling down isn't user friendly. You should truncate the posts using the read-more tag:

Hi,

I'm having trouble adding comments to the bottom of my posts. I have enabled comments in settings, but it doesn't come up. I'm on the manifest theme, so I was wondering if it was even possible to have comments on this theme?

Also if I can't have comments on the manifest theme, is it possible to customise the theme without having to buy 'custom design'?

I'm having trouble finding where to format my comments. One other user can italicize in her comments because she has a little bar above the comment box. I don't have one, and I'm not able to find how to enable it.

Go to "screen options" (up in the right hand corner at the top of the editing pane, there's a link to a drop-down screen options menu) and be sure that the "Discussion" option is checked. When it is checked, you should be able to find below the text input area the module with the option to disable commenting.

Hi,

I'd like to be able to disable comments on particular pages (but allow comments by default). On other WordPress installations I can simply uncheck "Allow comments" or similar when editing a page. I cannot find this option on wordpress.com. Is there any way to do this on wordpress.com?

Let me clarify: The only time the duplicate issue is a problem is if you assign duplicates to published posts. If you want to keep the duplicates and then just take care never to assign a duplicates to posts, that is fine.

One other thing I noticed on that site is that you have duplicate tags and categories. Since the search engines look at tags and categories as the same, that means you have duplicates and they don't like duplicates. Too much of it and they figure you are tag spamming.

Also it makes tag and category maintenance a nightmare that you will at some point run into and have to fight through. Anywhere you have a duplicate, one of them should be deleted.

Are you talking about this site, http://adoptioncoach.wordpress.com/ ?

If so, XML-RPC is on by default for all wordpress.COM blogs. There is no turning it on or off, it is always on.
