I think the iNove theme allows you to keep your Tags to yourself.

The Global Tags is actually part of the WordPress.COM magic as it allows your site to potentially be linked to and visited by about 25,000,000 other blogs.

I would like my blog to be listed on search engines as I understand it brings more traffic. BUT as soon as I enable that feature, all my categories are gone. For example, if a visitor clicks on VIDEOS, the will no longer be redirected to MY video related posts but to a kind of general dashboard.

Is there a way to enable search engines but keep ones' categories? I just don't see how these two things are linked and why...

I have posted quite a few blogs since the one in question, and it is still getting the juice. They do a lot of web surfing in Seoul - more IP addresses per capita than any other city on earth. Perhaps there are just a lot of folks reading the post. No one seems to be commenting though....that too is interesting.

What probably happened is a search engine finally clued onto your post and listed it for the term. You can check out incoming links and more blog stats at http://technorati.com if you're curious.

It's not unusual for one post to get a lot of juice. When it happens, be sure to keep adding new posts, to reward people for checking back. When something goes viral you can often keep 10% of those readers if you encourage them to click around by posting interesting fresh stuff.

I am thinking that these hits are from search engine robots. It is either that or I am becoming a cult celebrity in Seoul...

What do you think?

WordPress automatically pings search engines when you publish new posts, so they will get to you in a little. It can take up to 6 weeks for someone to be indexed although it is typically much quicker. You can shortcut the process a little by getting a google webmaster account and then verifying your blog with google: http://support.wordpress.com/verifying-with-google-webmaster-tools/ .

The same procedure can be used with Bing and is virtually identical.
