There is no FTP access and we bloggerscannot install plugins. That means we can't use Microsoft or Google translation widgets or any others, as they are JavaScript and it's stripped out to preserve security on this multiuser blogging platform. http://en.support.wordpress.com/code/

Note: You can copy and paste the code on my Translations page and then replace every occurrence of my blog's URL in the code with your own blog's URL.

You can only set a single interface language for the blog here > Settings > General

There are many ways to create a bilingual site.

What you did was to create Pages titled by each language. You cannot put posts on Pages the way you wish it to work.

Here are other options.

If you are translating the same post, put one language at the top and the translation at the bottom of the same post. Many people learning languages love this as they can read in the language they are learning and glance at the other language to make sure they have it right.

If you are producing separate content in the two languages, create a category for English and another for French and other categories reflective of the topics you are talking about along with tags in both languages to increase navigation opportunities. Use the Custom Menu feature to place the English and French categories where you wish them (I would not use a submenu as these are key navigation points right? Just add them directly to the menu), and users can click which category of posts to read. That is probably the best method.

Hello! My cousin just started our travel blog. She is French and I am American and we would like to post an English & French version of each of our posts. I've looked up other threads on this and figured out how to make a submenu. Now under blog it says both English and French but my question is how to get the posts to go under each submenu instead of just under blog. Is there a way?

There are some other words as well, but I'll check out Glotpress and do the translation my self. Thanx for the info.

I'm using the theme Twenty Eleven with norwegian settings, but still I have the "Leave a reply" in english. How can I change this text?

If you are bilingual or multilingual and want to publish your free hosted WordPress.com in two or more languages but do not want to rely on machine translation that can be done. hello,

i have read a few articles about multi lingual options and pluggings but i do no really know the one that suites me.

Actually i want to make my site in two (maybe even 3 languages) because my prospect visitors are from different countries. I will translate the posts myself so no need for auto translate.

Ideally would automatically (im a beginner user) set up the same page in two languages with the option to change with a button (like flags for the country language) from one to another.

Every time i will make a post, page, subpage or whatsoever will ask me the language and i will choose one or another.

is that possible? or at least something similar?

there are so many options out there that for the ones that we dont know a lot is not easy to chose.

Okay, the title does not make much sense. So here is what I mean:
I know what a translating widget does. However, I do not find them as useful as they seem to be. What I want to do is to find a tool/program/widget that does something more:
When someone searches something in the language that I write my posts, then if my blog is included in those results, it will be in that language.
But, if someone searches something in English, then if my blog is included in those results, it will be in English, which means that random visitors who cannot speak my native language will not have to find the translating tool in my website.
Is that possible?

So one of my fellow bloggers recently translated a few of our blog entries to Spanish and published them on our site.

His posts then automatically sent these to all of our followers, some of whom complained about getting posts in Spanish.

Is there a way to allow people who prefer Spanish to get separate e-mails from those who prefer English?

Hello

I would like to write blog in two languages. Is there any possibility to add a switch en-pl button. I don't want to have two blogs, or post two posts in two different languages. I would like to have one blog in two languages. Is this possible in wordpress?

To find it, I sorted by "original string" and paged through 100 pages at a time (by updating the URL) until I found it here:

Also, I found 'load more posts' already translated, waiting for approval. While 'in' (for categories) is really hard to find, since search results show over 900 subpages. Would you be able to find it and translate into "w"?

I'm sorry if that's too much to ask, but it's quite important for me and I just had to ask :)

Hi,

I've set language in Settings > General as pl Polish, changed interface language into Polish as well, but still I have couple of English words in my Polish blog. How can I change it?

i.e.: 'in' Category - on the left, close to comments
'Load more photos' - bottom of page
'RSS subscription' - unabled at the moment

If there's no way to change it, can I delete 'in'? How?
I could also change 'Load more photos' into no. of subpage, which would be even better. How do I do that?

If i understand wheel, for have the translation of the blog i have to create an other blog in a new language and after put a button for people go to the other blog?
