The extension adds an icon to Chrome's toolbar; the icon displays the number of unread notifications you have on WordPress.com, and when you click on it, it shows your notifications in a small popup. The popup also includes a "Press This" button you can click to start a new blog post based on the page you're currently viewing and a "Follow" button you can click to add the current site to your WordPress.com reader.

The toolbar icon will also turn blue when you're viewing a WordPress.com-powered site.

your old WordPress.COM URL will also work and when visitors get to your site it changes to the mapped URL.

Click on my name and you can see what it looks like in action as I have a mapped domain name here. @timethief & @airoddyese also have mapped domains to their base blog.

So lets say i have purchased the domain name eloudianos.gr and then mapped thought to eloudianos.wordpress.com, would the domain name eloudianos.wordpress.com at any time come up while the user is visiting my site? for example while the site is first loading or when the user is going from one page to another?

eloudianos.com is a separate issue but it could be registered with WordPress.COM and then mapped to your existing blog.

Both names can be mapped to the same base blog at the same time (you would need to pay for two domain mapping upgrades)

I'm a KDE person, so I can't give explicit instructions.

If you like CLI stuff, then do the following:

mv image.JPG image.jpg

for each image. Easy peasy with tab completion. A bit of a bigger pain if you have a bunch of files to do. That's where scripting would come in handy. Google "wildcard" or "globbing". Wildcard is the old term, globbing is the current one (or at least that's what I've been told).

I'm not positive this hasn't already been suggested - sorry if it's a duplicate. When using WordPress with a case-sensitive file system such as ext3 (I think that's the issue), I can't upload files of the format image.JPG. I haven't tried it with other file types, but I think the same problem occurs. It seems that because the uploader restricts file types to a few formats, it blocks all other files, even those of a format that is technically allowed. Of course, I can use a script to rename all my images, but it seems like I shouldn't have to do that, as they are jpegs. Thanks for the consideration.

I (at some point in time) had a script that would rename image.JPG to image.jpg. As to where it went or where I found it, I have no clue. At one point I reformatted my home partition and I guess I didn't have everything back up.
