Never mind. Figured it out. Apparently the background color was displayed over the original image. I fixed it by changing the background color to "clear" on the background settings page.

I want to restore the original background color/image for the Fauna theme. When I tried to customize the color, it seemed as though the theme would keep the default background pattern (changing only the base color), but now I'm getting a solid background and cannot revert to the original.

I've tried changing themes and going back to Fauna and it still won't restore the default settings. Any suggestions?

You will have to address your first question to Staff in order to get an answer. Volunteers answering forum questions don't have any additional information on this topic or any other one. As for the second question. I believe the the answer is you would have to supply an image, upload it and edit the CSS.

P.S. I believe other bloggers would also consider using this theme if it had a customizable header option.

Well, bummer. :(

Does anyone know if there are plans to add header customization to Fauna (or other similar themes as well)? Is that something the new & wonderful Theme Team might put on their agenda?

On a side note, if I were to buy the CSS upgrade in the future (can't afford it at the moment), what would I need to do to apply a custom header?

In theory yes; in practice you'll get different results in different browsers. An alternative would be an image with negative top and left margins; same problem. In short, no.

I'm just curious... is there any way I might be able to work around the fact that the theme Fauna doesn't allow custom headers? (the lime green is ATROCIOUS, despite the fact the rest of the theme is beautiful!) Like maybe uploading one scaled, cropped, and sized to fit, adding it to a text widget, and using relative positioning??

Any ideas?

Thanks for the link. By the way, you can link your username to your blog URL by going to users > your profile and putting your blog URL into the "website" field and then clicking the update profile button.

Sorry, there is no way to remove the "blog" link since it is defined in the underlying theme files and we do not have access to those.

Your choices are to either live with it or change to a theme that does not have a "home/blog/front page" link in the top navigation. This blog post lists which themes do and do not have a home/blog/front page link in the header: http://wpbtips.wordpress.com/2009/05/06/the-home-tab/ .

Hello --
I'm using Fauna, and have set a static home page (called "1.0 Home") by following the instrux in Support.

However, I can't seem to get the default "blog" link to disappear from the header. I can't exclude "blog" in the Pages widget because this page doesn't seem to have a page ID (it shows nothing after the blog name in URL). And I can't make it a child of another page because it's not appearing in my pages list.

Is it possible to hide this link somehow?

I'll pass this on.
The problem arises though that if the theme has changed much then if we use the new one that people with the old one do not want that change - "it wasn't broken so why did you fix it", And if we had 2 Fauna then we'd need 2 of others that have changed.
It's not that easy.

alas, I can't see 'Fauna 1.0 Final' available for download on Joen's site yet.

for what it worth, judging by that even the Sandbox theme hasn't got upgraded up to the latest (compat. w/ WP 2.3) version yet, I wouldn't hold my breath about Fauna as well (though, gotta admit I'd love to).
