It could also be an issue with a misbehaving invisible proxy server at your ISP. They use those to speed up delivery of content and to lower their bandwidth usage, but sometimes the get messed up. Hopefully this will sort itself out in a day or two.

I just checked your site and the first time I loaded it, the favicon did not show, but the second time I viewed it, the icon showed up (red "S" on a black background).

Log out, clear your IE cache and cookies, restart IE and take another look. With IE, sometimes you might have to do this twice. It can be stubborn. :)
