Thank you for posting these inquiries.

I'm having the same "Featured Category" issue with Structure, as well as other issues that have all arisen today without my making any changes. The font colors on the frontpage have changed, and all of the text in the sidebars are now not visible due to the background color that I use.

Basically, the page is a mess: http://drlorax.wordpress.com/

Are these issues due to wordpress.com's new changes? Are they temporary while bugs are being worked out? Should I wait or begin rebuilding?

Thank you for any info and advice.

BTW, why would they ask that question if they don't give you the option to say "Yes"?

Hi there,

Same problem here. I want to change my "Featured Category" in my Theme Options to my "Welcome" category (how it used to be always before) but when I click "Save Options", I get a WordPress Failure Notice saying "Are you sure you want to do this? Please try again". This is messing up the front page of my blog as it is not taking the images from my "Welcome" category.

My theme is Structure by Organic Themes.

Please advise how to fix this.

Thanks and regards,

Hi Ben,
It looks like that is a function of the theme you are using. I read a little on the theme description and saw this:
"Take note of the featured post area.... That’s the area with the large post title just below the header and the large Featured Image. The first thing to take note of in the theme options is the Featured Category. By selecting one of your blog categories here you can restrict what gets featured in your featured post area. If you choose the “fashion” category, for example, only the latest post from that category will appear at the top of the home page."
It looks like you need to change a setting for the which blog category is featured to change that image, or to update that blog category with a new post, which will then automatically update that featured area.
Good luck!

Do you have the theme options set up to show your latest post there, or did you set it up to only show posts from a featured category and if you did, is that category assigned to your latest posts?

From the structure theme description page (my emphasis):

The first thing to take note of in the theme options is the Featured Category. By selecting one of your blog categories here you can restrict what gets featured in your featured post area. If you choose the “fashion” category, for example, only the latest post from that category will appear at the top of the home page. It’s a great way to take a little more control over the home page of your site. The image that appears there is up to you. You can select the image by choosing a Featured Image. We have some great information about Featured Images in our support documentation.

I am using Nuntius with the News Theme for my recipe blog.

It used to bring up various categories (Sweet, Savory, Drinks) below the featured articles in the slider. However, today, as I was editing some posts... it brought up Recipes (the parent category) as well on my page. Now, it has Sweet, Savory, Drinks, AND Recipes... since all of the recipes are categorized under the parent "Recipes"... it's causing this new Recipes section to feature pretty much everything and leaving the other categories featuring only one recipe.

It looks awkward and makes no sense...

What have I possibly done to unwittingly cause this shift? What can I possibly do to fix it? It's making my blog look sort of illogical and silly and that has me in a totally panic and super bummed out...

Please help!
