when I'm trying to create a menu there aren't any pages showing up for me to include!

A page won't be available in Appearance > Menus if it's a draft or if it's private: it has to be published and public. If you're working on the site, make the site private (in Settings > Reading), not the pages.

Hi the sacredpath, the page is currently private while I'm building it. That's also in part though to notbeing able to work out how to import the pages I've built so far into the menu...when I'm trying to create a menu there aren't any pages showing up for me to include! I'm not seeing any image on the site you have referenced, lisajcoates.wordpress.com. Are you talking about a different site?

That's a premium theme and when you purchased it you purchased theme support direct form the theme design in the premium theme support forum. read-access to the premium themes forum is now open to all users so you can search to see if your question has been previously asked and answered there. The premium theme forums are at http://premium-themes.forums.wordpress.com/ with separate sections for each theme. http://premium-themes.forums.wordpress.com/forum/full-frame

If you are not successful when searching there is a link for the specific Premium Theme support forum for your theme under Appearance -> Themes in your blog’s Dashboard, but do note that the premium theme must be active and you must be signed in as the user who purchased it in order to see it and post to it.

I'm new to wordpress and intending to move my existing website over to here. I've downloaded the full frame theme (though I haven't yet purchased the upgrades which allow customisation and transferring my domain name across as my renewal on the old isn't due till end of June and I wanted to get as much of the new site done as possible before I go live. I want a featured image (headshot) on my homepage with the text allignment on the left (this is something I also can't figure out how to do!) but at the moment there's a big white text box obscuring the lower half of the picture. How can I make this lower so it doesn't cover any of the image, or even get rid of it all together. I would really appreciate someone's help. Is there any easy way to do this or is it using CSS? I'm familiar with the concept of it but no idea how to use it.

I would like to know how to make sure that at least one of my images from my posts will show up in the Reader for my followers and others seeing a specific Tag. Why do some people's posts show an image in the Reader while others do not?

I have set my featured images for my posts so as they display in the slider (sticky posts) however, when you click on the "read more" button from the slider and access the post, you get the featured image displaying at the top of the post (which I don't want) ... looks messy.

Can I set these images to not display on the posts? but keep them displaying on the slider??

Hi Omikane and kirstendryburgh,

I just solved my image display problem, I may have a solution for you both. My most recent post was copied from an original draft. Rather than edit the draft, I copied it, re-wrote it and published the new version. Though I selected a featured image from the image library, none showed in the reader. I later went into that post and clicked on the ‘add media’ button. Then I clicked on ‘media library’. There is a drop down menu that gives you the option to view pictures ‘uploaded to this post’. When I clicked on that it showed zero images because although I had images in my post, they had all been copied across from the original draft and I hadn’t uploaded any new images. (This would also happen if you just used images that were already in the media library).

This is where the reader takes your images from (I’m guessing). If this is empty, you’ll need to upload the image again while in the edit mode for THAT post. You don’t need to insert it in your post. Just click out once you’ve uploaded it and click, ‘update’. And voila, it will appear in the reader.

Well, that’s what happened for me. I re-uploaded the featured image and suddenly it appeared in the reader. Sadly, I realised a bit late, so anyone who saw my post in the reader during the first few hours would have just seen text.

So, I actually believe you can control what images appear in the reader.

I find the reader to be incredibly annoying when it comes to displaying images. I just posted a blog with lots of photos that I’m really proud of, and it’s showing up as text only in the reader...(!)

A few weeks ago I posted a blog with some mediocre images, it seems the reader selected the ‘best’ ones to show and I got 17 likes in the first hour of posting (for some who has about 30 followers, that’s a big deal). It’s just such a lottery...

Is the Featured Images support page missing the Mystique theme?

The Mystique theme offers a Featured (“Sticky”) Post feature where it shows a feature image of a sticky post above the posts and below the navigation menu. So shouldn't it be mentioned in the "Other Featured Images section?

Thanks for your response. I wasn't sure, to be honest, if the forums were simply a volunteer community or part of the actual support staff. Featured images won't display on pages in Scrollider Express theme, despite the documentation on WordPress.com indicating this feature is built-in.

The "About" page, for example, has Featured Image functionality available from the edit interface/dashboard. It will allow me to set a featured image, however, when I view the blog, no image is visible.

WordPress.com support states that this paid premium theme has this functionality, which is one reason I purchased it. See this link:

We bloggers have no control over which image is displayed in the Reader.

Hi, having same problem. Was wondering if it is because the featured image is not in the post itself, just a feature page - contents of post are video. So no option to do a visual edit?

Featured images replace the regular header image on static pages. When you set a page as your posts page, you don't see that static page anymore, you see the dynamic page that displays your latest posts. The header image that will show on this page is the one you upload in Appearance > Header.

Hi,
I'm running into an issue with the Set Featured Image option.
I have been applying a different header into each page successfully except for one page (the one with the posts page). I don't really understand why this is happening. I am using a theme that supports this option and, as I said, the rest of pages do show the featured image. Any ideas?

a) I can't see because your blog is set to private.
b) To explain my "isn't really possible": The dimensions of featured images are set in PHP, not CSS, so you cannot change them. You can use CSS editing to make the images show full-width, but they won't be real larger versions, they will be the default ones blown-up, which means terrible quality.
