The names of the blogs you follow will automatically appear, from the list of blogs you follow. The names of them will appear if you've got the list option selected instead of grid, which shows the picture of the blog instead.

You can list up to 50 blogs, and select how many you want. It appears take the most recently followed blogs first, but as far as I know, you cannot chose which ones to display

I have chosen a couple of blogs that I wish to follow and then want to be displayed in the widget "blogs that I follow". I understand how I add the widget to my sidebar on my blog, but how do I put the names of the blogs that I follow in that list?

Hello there,
Let's see what some troubleshooting provides. If you are not running one of the browsers and versions listed at http://browsehappy.com/ please try upgrading or switching first.

Note: If you are using an IE9 browser in compatibility mode that makes it render as IE7 and IE7 is not supported. To disable see > http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/1196-internet-explorer-compatibility-view-turn-off.html

If you are running one of the browsers and versions listed at http://browsehappy.com please do these four things:

1. Try clearing your browser’s cache:

http://www.google.com/support/accounts/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=32050

2. Make sure that you have third-party cookies enabled: http://en.support.wordpress.com/third-party-cookies/

3. Try with all browser extensions or add-ons temporarily disabled.

4. Try enabling HTTPS: http://en.support.wordpress.com/https/

If it’s still happening, let us know which browser (and version of it) you’re using by checking here if necessary http://www.whatbrowser.org/ and also post any error reports you get.

I am following a number of blogs and I understand I should be able to see those in the reader and update the settings in the reader. I click on the reader and nothing happens. I am not seeing blogs much less any setting options where I can update how things look. Any suggestions on where I should look to update and correct this problem? Thank you in advance for your assistance.

Hi,

Your private blog viewers will need to opt in to follow your blog by email from their account.

First, they can follow your blog in Reader by clicking the Follow button in the gray toolbar:

http://en.support.wordpress.com/following/#how-to-follow-new-blogs

To receive email notifications of new posts, they'll need to go to Reader, then click Edit List next to Blogs I Follow.

Lastly, they'll need to change the "Get new posts by email" drop down to an option aside from Never.

You can see more details and a screenshot of that here:

http://en.support.wordpress.com/following/#manage-email-and-im-settings-for-specific-blogs

How often are the auto emails sent?

It depends on the user's email delivery settings (located in Reader), which you can see more information about here:

http://en.support.wordpress.com/following/#change-your-email-settings

I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions.
