Not all @ stuff is supported here at this time in CSS. You do have availability of all the Typekit fonts with the Custom Design upgrade if you can find fonts there that will work for you.

Hey, I'm currently customising my blog and I'm trying to use the @font-face CSS property by hosting the font files on another server and then popping this into the CSS:

@font-face {
font-family: 'JosefinSlabRegular';
src: http://www.****.com/fonts_anja/josefin/JosefinSlab-Regular-webfont.ttf;
src: http://www.****.com/fonts_anja/josefin/JosefinSlab-Regular-webfont.eot;
src: http://www.****.com/fonts_anja/josefin/JosefinSlab-Regular-webfont.svg;
src: http://www.****.com/fonts_anja/josefin/JosefinSlab-Regular-webfont.woff;
src: format('embedded-opentype'), format('woff'), format('truetype'), format("svg");
font-weight: normal;
font-style: normal;
}

Then, I've hooked up the correct selector to the font-family... but to no avail. Can someone help me!?

The answer is "no" and if you had provided a link to font-face up front you would have received a response very quickly.

These are 3 ways to change fonts on wordpress.com blogs.
(1) Changing font families, colors and size in text in posts or pages either post by post or page by page by coding into the HTML editor. http://en.support.wordpress.com/editors/font-size-color/

(2) Changing font colors in text in posts or pages either post by post or page by page using the #4 icon (Select text color – change the text color) in Row 2 the Visual editor. http://en.support.wordpress.com/visual-editor/#row-2

(3) Changing all font families, colors and sizes throughout the whole blog by purchasing an annually renewable Custom Design upgrade and using Typekit Fonts with Staff support. http://en.support.wordpress.com/custom-design/

Note: A few themes do provide for changing font color in the Blog Title and/or optional Tagline and/or links http://wpbtips.wordpress.com/2009/03/24/color-customisable-themes/

In the majority of themes font changes to font families, colors and size in the blog title, tagline, menu, post titles, page titles, categories and tags, widget headings, comments and links cannot be done without purchasing an annually renewable custom design upgrade and doing the required CSS editing.

You're right. These are very good questions and feedback.

We started the Custom Design feature with Typekit as a partner, and that's why we only offer Typekit fonts at this time. We will consider adding other font sources in the future. We allow most CSS, and as I mentioned before, some is removed for security reasons since WordPress.com is a shared environment. I've added a note to our documentation about that, and I've requested better warnings for CSS that is not allowed inside the editor itself.

Is there anything else I can do to help you? Feedback like yours is exactly the kind I want to hear because it is a good push and helps to make things better.

If I include the @font-face rules like so:
@font-face {
src: local('Open Sans Bold'), local('OpenSans-Bold'), url(http://themes.googleusercontent.com/static/fonts/opensans/v6/k3k702ZOKiLJc3WVjuplzKRDOzjiPcYnFooOUGCOsRk.woff) format('woff');
font-style:normal;
font-weight:700;
src:local('Open Sans Bold'), local('OpenSans-Bold'), format("woff");

I'm setting up a WordPress site, using the Sandbox theme, and I've noticed that embedding a font works if you access the site from one URL, but not another.

I first built the site at http://ralphborland.net/objectsindevelopment, and if you visit that link, you should see the site in the font 'Andale Mono Regular'.

I just directed the domain name http://objectsindevelopment.net/ to that same location, but if you access the site through that URL, the font does not embed on first viewing - only once you start moving through the site.

Why is that, I wonder?

CSS code:

@font-face {
font-family: 'AndaleMonoRegular';
src: url('AndaleMono-webfont.eot');
src: url('AndaleMono-webfont.eot?iefix') format('eot'),
url('AndaleMono-webfont.woff') format('woff'),
url('AndaleMono-webfont.ttf') format('truetype'),
url('AndaleMono-webfont.svg#webfontuk6D2tF2') format('svg');
font-weight: normal;
font-style: normal;
}
