Hi there,

I am trying to push my site live today. Last night an error message was coming up, then it was working this morning, and now the error message is back. I tried to re-upload the gravatar (it disappeared) and then when I tried to get back on the site the error message showed up again - not sure if/why this would have anything to do with it, but it's the only thing that changed.

This is the error:

Forbidden
You don't have permission to access / on this server.
Apache/2.2.22 Server at thisplaceisyours.com Port 80

Any help would be appreciated! I need to let our supporters know we're live but don't want this bug coming back..

after speaking with my host company it could be something to do with the ip address but they werent too sure and only advised not to use it as it was bad and could suspend my account

nope not yet. As it is a self hosted out blog i wonder if i need some code to put in a file on my back end to authorise the ipad? that is closest i have come but very cautious about putting anything into the cpanel as i dont fully understand coding.

I have just got an ipad and downloaded the wordpress app. Everything seems to work except for the Dashboard feature. I can view my site, see pages, comments and posts in the viewing screen next to the tab However when i hit the dashboard tab the viewing screen loads a message saying
' Forbidden
you do not have permission to access /wp-login.php on this server.

Additionally, a 403 Forbidden error was encountered whilst trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.'

How do i grant permission to my ipad so to speak?

Affiliate links are certainly not allowed. On http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com there is a Resources page which lists image sites that are safe to use.

Thanks for all your help. It's been a frustrating and scary day. I guess the web address was deemed too commercial or too retail for the computer's liking. My next move will be to figure out how to give photo credit without shooting myself in the foot again.

I was told my blog was suspended because I put the name of a website in it. The website was apparently a retailer, but it was the retailer whose picture I had used. Am I to presume that any retailer is off limits as a source of photos then? If so, I will be happy to avoid using the photo of any retail site, I just need parameters before I get shut down for extended periods.

Does that make sense? I was Freshly Pressed a week and a half ago and got quite a few new followers, many of whom probably dropped me today when they got to my post to find my blog was essentially gone.

I tried to post this morning, but in giving credit for a photo, I inadvertantly used the name of a forbidden website. The security program shut down my blog for seven hours until someone wrote back and asked me to remove the offending web address. I was trying to do the RIGHT thing by crediting the source of my photo. I would not have typed in that address had I known it was taboo. My question is: Is there a way to avoid getting your account suspended on a heavy traffic day by knowing the offending web addresses beforehand? FYI, for those seven hours I had virtually no idea why my blog was deactivated.

So, I have set up a blog on my personal site, that I tried to move a while ago. I changed the links in the settings page, moved the WP files to a sub directory and have gone into php myadmin to manually change the links. The CSS is connected, but no images show up and I can't login, I get a forbidden message. I check a few other forums and support pages and I'm pretty sure I've done everything it says to do. I don't know what else to do!

if you do a forum search for "Stats" or just click on the Stats tag in the sidebar of the main forum page, you'll find many alternatives. Always try a search of the forum first, as most likely the answer is already here somewhere. It may not always turn up, but at least you tried.

Hi, I can't put Google Analytics script into my blog umutsarikaya.wordpress.com because script is forbidden as mentioned in "http://support.wordpress.com/code/". Also I can't upload a html file to track Google Webmaster Tools. Is there any solution to overcome these problems?

That means you are in the wrong forum and we will not have the answer. You need to head over to http://wordpress.ORG/support which is where self-hosted blogs are supported.

First off Link 2 your WordPress.COM blog please starting with the prefix http
So we can determine what blogging platform your blogging with so we can help you.

Also by linking your name to your blog it will serve the purposes…

I am currently serializing a story on my blob, and today I hit a reoccurring error. Every time I post a section of text I get this error:

Error 403: Forbidden

Your PHP settings have been disabled by an H-Sphere administrator.

Please bring your PHP configuration in compliance with admin settings or request your administrator to re-enable support of your settings.

You don't have permissions to access this page. This usually means one of the following:

* this file and directory permissions make them unavailable from the Internet.
* .htaccess contains instructions that prevent public access to this file or directory.

Please check file and directory permissions and .htaccess configuration if you are able to do this. Otherwise, request your webmaster to grant you access.

Since the WordPress blog is hosted on my own domain, I am technically the administrator and the webmaster, yet I can't figure out what the issue is. Can someone explain what's going on above? Many thanks!!!

That's not a WordPress.com error message. It sounds like something that might be produced by a firewall, corporate gateway or similar.

Hi there,

Yesterday I was able to access WordPress just fine. As of today, I keep getting the following message:

Forbidden
You were denied access because:
Access denied by access control list.

In fact, in order to write this, I had to connect to my school's VPN, so I'm guessing the problem has something to do with my home IP address. Has anyone else experienced this? I can get to the site homepage (www.wordpress.com) but I cannot go to specific blogs, including my own, or comment on them.

Any help or info would be appreciated!
