Polldaddy now requires a WordPress.com account to sign in. You may use an existing WordPress.com account or create a new one.

If you don't have access to your account or forgot the password, you can request a new password over here.

Please follow the instructions carefully. You'll receive two separate emails during the reset process, so make sure you read them both. If you don't receive the emails right away, check your spam folders as well. The confirmation emails can get caught in them sometimes :)

That's not a free hosted WordPress.com blog and we cannot help you with it. You need to register a WordPress.org username account on the top right hand corner of this page http://wordpress.org/support/ so you can post to the correct support forum for your software.

To clear up any confusion, WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two different entities.

WordPress.org has complete support and documentation sites for self-hosted/installed versions of WordPress via their Codex and Support Forums.

Thanks for your help, timethief!

I can provide pretty much anything but that. I have my email address, even the password to that email, but because the domain name the address was attached to has expired (and some mean person has purchased it from underneath me) I can't get into it. The email with the API is in that account, which I can no longer access.

I'm happy to provide any details I can, but I have no idea how to provide the ones you've outlined.

You will need Staff help and I have flagged this thread for Staff attention. In order to help you get access to your blog Staff need one of the following things in order to correctly identify you as the blog owner:

1. an email from the email address associated with the account or revealing what that associated email address was
2. the wordpress.com API key for your account. This was included in your welcome email with a note to keep it safe. Please do not post the API key here.
3. if you have purchased any upgrades for the blog a transaction number

Please be patient while aiting for a Staff response.

Hey everyone!

I know the email for my blog, but not the password. I clicked 'forgot password', and it was reset.

I can't access the email to find the new password, as the email belonged to an old domain name that has expired. Does anyone know how I can login to my blog?

I am going to flag this to see if the farmersmarket wordpress account can not be resolved. I think it will be helpful to have the email address that the website was created from. Maybe wordpress will tell you that information. Do you have a transaction code? Will wordpress tell you the exact email address? This is getting me scared about my blogs. What if I forget my information and lose access to my email account?

unfortunately, i do not know the API of the account.
like i've said earlier, there is a problem on the server that handles my email (the server was compromised) and i cannot access my email, website, cpanel.

but I can give you the email address.

blockertemp, do you have that account's API key? We'll need either the account's API key or a request from the email address on the account to reset the password for you.

pennerwebdesign, we cannot send new passwords to email addresses which are not on the account. Can she ask the original provider to temporarily restore that email address?

She wants to take this blog down, but the original email under which she created here wordpress.com account [email redacted] no longer works.

Hello,

I forgot my password for my wordpress account, but the problem is there has been a problem on the server that handles my email and I cannot access my account, which means the email that will receive my lost password notification is currently unaccessable.

I just want to ask how can I change the email of my account, so that I can change my password from there?

The wordpress account is theBlocker, and I can provide the email that I use for that account. I just hope that there is a more secure way of providing that without being read by everyone.

Hello wordpress ... please help me!
Since 2007 I have stopped using my blog (http://designvladduca.wordpress.com). Now it is hard for me to access it since I forgot my password. The "forgot password" option is not helpful since I have also forgot my e-mail address and password. Is there anything that can be done to continue using my blog? Please help me! At least give me that used e-mail address and I will try over and over to remember the password used five years ago. Thanks!

Hi, thank you for the reply. I did look under that tab with a wistful look in my eye, I'm sure. But there is no blog there at all because I don't even have one associated yet with my new user name. I tried to use that contact form both at work and at home on several occasions. It always ask me to enter a brief clue about what I'm looking for and then I click submit, but nothing happens. I'll keep trying, but the fact that your reply makes sense to me makes me feel less bummed. Maybe there's hope. Since my McKinley Manor userid seems valid in their system, I'll be very curious to know if they can tell me what email address it's associated with -- since I only have the two of them and neither is working.

You will need to work with the staff when they reopen the contact form on Monday: http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/

You are only allowed one email per account and one account per email (you can have more than one blog per account) so if you were able to register a second blog with an email address you thought was associated with the first blog then the email address you associated with the second blog was not really associated with your first account.

Have you looked at the gray bar at the top of the screen to see if your other blog is under the "My Blogs" tab?

I created a blog McKinleyManor in April this year. I still have the initial activation email, so I know the email that was associated with my blog. I tried to log in and apparantly do not remember my password. I clicked on the Forgot Password option, but never received an email. Not in my spam folder, either. Logically, this would lead me to conclude I had used another email address, which I knew I had not because I still had my activation email. There was another option to get my password by entering my email address. When I entered the email address associated with my blog, I got a message saying there was no account with that email address. Well, there was in April when I created it. I do have one other junkmail email account, so I tried it anyway. Of course it was wrong.

I am so bummed that I can't get back in to my McKinley Manor blog. I was ill and on hiatus, but it didn't seem that I was gone so long my account would just freak out.

I have since created a username so that I could get on here and post this inquiry. My new username now has the email address that I believed was associated with my McKinley Manor account. So now when I tried to request a password change with McKinley Manor, I did get an email. However it was addressed to The Dancing Gardner. So then I was right! At some point in time my email address was attached to McKinley Manor. Well I have no other email address and I did not get any message that the same email address was being used by another user so . . . . .

I have no way of accessing my blog because some freaky thing has happened with my McKinley Manor account? HELP! I really want to resume my old blog. Can I some how attach it to my The Dancing Gardner account now?

I am SOOOO bummed!
