I was just wondering for the future how, once my blog gets quite a good following (if ever) then what is the best way to make some money from it? I know that I would have to get a domain name and pay for that and I would probably create a more personalised theme for my blog when the time comes but how would I go about that from WordPress.com?

I've heard that the best way is to move my content to WordPress.org. How do you do that? Also does WordPress.org allow you to do whatever you want to your blog regarding appearance, set-up and design?

Also how does the money making thing work?

I know non of this will apply to me for a while yet, but it's nice to know what I may be getting myself into and know more about the ins and outs of stuff. Thank you :)

You can't use themes from anywhere but WordPress.com on a WP.com blog. If you buy a premium theme, I believe you only get that theme as is.

If you really want to tinker with themes, what you want is a WordPress.ORG blog instead.

A lot of things are not possible on a WordPress.com blog whereas, if you were to self-host using a WordPress.org install, it opens up a lot more possibilities.
