a) You asked about grid layout themes. Under the Influence isn't really a grid layout theme, it's just a theme with two columns of posts.
b) Like most themes, it doesn't display 7 posts, it displays as many as you tell it to in Settings > Reading.
c) The Top Posts & Pages widget is a standard widget, available in all themes.

PS You need to correct your username link: it links to a deleted blog.

I found one! Thar I didn't have to do anything to the post! It's Under The Influence. It displays 7 posts on the main page and has a unique widget that allows to show top visited pages and posts with an image grid.

I am not in love with the font but I suppose I could change that by paying the $30 per year. It's not as bold of a style as Bueno--which was great for the photos, (what I was using before) but hopefully it will pay off in overall.

Just when I think I am crazy for spending yet another hour playing with themes, it pays off. #blogaddict #wordpresslover

(Sorry, in my previous reply I meant The Columnist, not Mixfolio).
So, free themes that display posts in a grid and work with regularly inserted images: Autofocus, Mixfolio, Triton Lite.

Yes @Justpi, yes a grid but as you say, they are useless unless you go in and set the featured post.

I appreciate you pointing that out, although I am wanting to do just throw them up there from my phone without editing. Blog on the go.

It's not a relevant answer. You still have to go into the post and set the featured image if you desire to make use of a featured image in the post for a theme that showcases.

Advice: Prior to uploading any image into your blog, regardless if it’s a header image, a featured image, an image in a post or page, in a Post format (Gallery or Image), an image for sidebar display in an image widget or a text widget, you can optimize and re-size it in either a desktop image editing software or online image editing software to fit the space you intend to use it in. By undertaking proper image preparation first you will get the best image quality, won't be wasting your media storage space, and won't be wasting your time troubleshooting.

No TT, there are themes that are useless without featured images, and there are even themes that protest if you haven't added a f.i. - try Mixfolio for an example.

@erinblogger: Most themes can display "multiple posts on the front page". Do you mean themes that display posts in a griid?

What I meant to express above is that setting featured images is optional. One can use image editing software and make sure that the images they upload are actually pre-sized fit the maximum displayed image width for posts/pages on their theme. The most common problem that surfaces here in the forums is over-sized images and by that I mean HUGE images right out of the camera. It's as if people are not capable of comprehending doing that is equivalent to trying to park a Mac Truck and semi-trailer unit in a Vespa sized parking space. Not sure what you mean. As I see it, unless you go in and set the featured image--it will not show in that type of feature.

Looking for photoblog that showcases multiple posts on the front page, without the work of me having to set the featured image. I want to autopost from my phone and make posting quick and easy. I'm using Bueno now because I like the strong style of it and haven't found a photo one I like.

A free theme ideally but I'll pay if I find the right one.
