Now, I'm a beginner here, having only worked on two wordpressblogs until now. I've been asked to do a homepage for some friends of mine.

I've found this wordpressblog (http://svenseebeck.com/) that is build in the way, that I've been thinking about doing: A static frontpage with 4 squares, that each contains a page with information. Problem is - it has been customized, and I don't know how.

Does anyone here know of a theme that has the same features? Static frontpage, four squares linking to four pages?

when you open one of the pictures/posts, look around in it and go back via arrows or via ´HOME` you get it again. First one and whilst looking around, more appear again :(

It looks like the posts no longer have an associated title, and that refreshing doesn't cause the issue that appeared earlier. Further, the blog's log doesn't seem to indicate any out of place edits or additions.

Only I have never created those titles, they just appear out of nowhere.
After I delete them, they reappear after a while.
I have already deleted those titles several times...
But without success, they keep reappearing.

After several more tries, I've reproduced the problem.

The strings that are appearing are the titles of the posts you've created. If you head to the "Posts" page in your dashboard, you'll see several posts named "Next Post" and "Previous Post". If you remove these titles, this output will disappear.

I also get the ´Next Postand ´Previous Post on my I pad though...and in Firefox...does that help?
Also if you click on a picture and afterwards go back to home via the arrows, or refresh the page or click on ´HOME` ...always happens :(

When I delete them, the front page is clear again. After I refsh the front page or go back to it via the arrow, it happens again, why?

I suggest you create some test posts and experiment. What I know for sure follows:

Unless you use P2, a twitter-like theme comments are collapsed on the front page of your blog. The way the comments function is coded into the core of WordPress. By clicking the post title or the comments link the posts on the front page open on their own page where all comments display.

In a new blog one does not have many posts or comments. In an established blog if the comments did not collapse on the front page it would become a mile long in no time flat and page loading time is a page ranking factor. We have only seconds before visitors refuse to wait and click out.

Troubleshooting
If you are having trouble showing the sharing buttons on your blog, please check the following:
I can’t see the buttons on the front page.

That works, but in-so-doing, another problem seems to present itself which I'm not sure the theme is able to overcome; if you opt for excerpt mode, end-post details found in individual post pages, such as social media sharing and comments, will not appear at the bottom of the post. They will only appear within the individual post page.

Is this the case?

The Origin theme is behaving exactly the way it is designed to behave, which is excerpts only on the front page of the blog. Origin does have an active excerpt box below the post editor., so you can control the length of the excerpt displayed. This is the workaround you can use to override excerpt display on the front page. Ideally, I would like to keep the look of this theme, but have full posts appear on the main page, so that readers' don't have to click into separate entries.

Is this possible, or is it the case that you can only do this on an externally hosted WordPress blog?
