@nbalinebreaker My last comment was meant more for the moderator than for you. I've replicated the issue and confirmed that it is an issue with the theme, and not your browser. A staff member should be able to connect with the right person to fix this issue. In the mean time, using another theme might suffice. The twitter timeline widget works with most themes, so it seems to be a conflict with this particular theme.

timethief,

Thanks for responding, but that's not the problem. I know that in Mobile mode, the layout shifts from two columns to 1, and the widgets appear below.

The problem is that both the Text and Twitter Timeline Widgets come up as blanks in Full Site mode on a mobile device. If I switch to Mobile Mode, they appear, but then the menu, look & feel I prefer is replaced by Standard's Mobile layout, which looks terrible.

I did not have this problem with the Twitter widget, which has been replaced by Twitter Timeline in WordPress. Right now, my current options are Bad Layout/Widgets Work, or Good Layout/Widgets Don't Work. I'd like the Full Site option to appear with working widgets on mobile devices.

My WordPress.com blog uses Standard and has only two widgets: Text and Twitter Timeline.

Both work when I pull up the site on a PC, and the site looks the way I want it to look there.

If I view in Mobile mode on an Android phone, both widgets work, but I also get Standard's generic Mobile layout for the rest of the site. Which I don't like at all.

If I switch to Full Site mode on an Android phone, I get the layout I prefer, but neither widget works.

The layout matters, and functions matter too. I want both. Not either/or.

Can you fix this problem?

re: Grisaille
You compose your whole post first and before you publish it you switch to the HTML editor, copy the code, paste it into the Excerpt box, and publish the post. http://en.support.wordpress.com/splitting-content/excerpts/#creating-excerpts
On themes that do have an active excerpt function, the workaround works very well but you have to do it on every post you create.

Yes: change themes. When a theme automatically truncates, the whole layout is designed to work with that and forcing full posts generally decreases the quality of the design. With some themes, you can copy all the contents of the post in the Text editor and paste it in the Manual Excerpt box below the Write Post box and force it that way, but even this isn't available for all themes.

Yes, you've been uploading huge files: the landscape-shaped ones I checked are 4000px wide. There's no point doing that, because the theme you're using displays them at 640px maximum - or 900px on attachment pages.
(By the way, since your images link to attachment pages when clicked: is that intentional or not?)

To downsize the images you need to use an image editing application like Photoshop, or an online tool like this:
http://www.picresize.com/
Then you must edit each post, remove the inserted images, upload and insert the downsized copies, then go to Media > Library and delete the originally inserted ones (if you only remove them from the posts they remain uploaded to your blog).
How much time is this going to take? I get sick thinking about it myself!

There is no FTP access to free hosted WordPress.COM blogs and we cannot install individual plugins or any themes into them The themes found on the internet are for wordpress.ORG installs which run on different software.

Hey supportive wordpressers,

I've finally found a simple theme that suits my style photographically and I basically have everything the way I want it.
Just a few minor things that me and my web friends cannot seem to figure out....

1] I design on a Mac 1920 x 1080, looks great. Clipping occurs on some smaller resolution computers and it's not a vertical scrolling theme.

2] The home page side scroll is not functioning.... I have more "posts" which means the home page should scroll to the right with more photos.

3] This may need to go in the NextGen forum, but I have custom fields to link photos within portfolios back to the original posts, yet clicking on a photo within the portfolio just refreshes that same page. I found the coding for the gallery function in some other forum, can't remember exactly.

http://www.eyeconic-photography.com

Thanks in advance, everyone.
