The Pop Up as you describe sounds like the Photo Carousel, which is the default behavior for images inserted in a post or page using the Gallery feature.

I can't seem to get the galleries to work (most of the time). I have followed the instructions as far as I can, but when I click on "add media" nothing happens. All of the instructions say that "on the left a choice will appear that says Add Gallery"...does not happen! My site is totally image based and I need to have plenty of galleries. I need to be able to have images appear in several galleries under different headings. (One image might be both "red" and "Geometric", and then they should link to attachment page, and from then to my Imagekind site where images can be printed and purchased. I've changed themes as Coraline was only galleries for posts, now on 2013. Seems like this ought to be easy but it is not! Thanks to all who can help. Leslie

I'm not sure that I've understood exactly what you mean, but perhapse this might help.

What you could do: insert a gallery in a post/page as you would usually do. Leave everything as it is (thumbnail grid gallery type) and take let's say 2 columns.

Then click on the "text" tab in the post/page editor, and you'll see a code that will look like [gallery link="file" columns="2" ids="xx, xy, xz,"]

After columns="2", you insert size="medium" (or size="large", size="thumbnail" or size="full") depending on what you want.

Size will also depend on your theme width. And you might also have to alter the number of columns, depending on the image size you want (full size images and 6 columns won't work of course). To display your images of that gallery in max. size, you'll have: columns="1" size="full".

Also make sure that you have the "image carousel" enabled in your media settings.

Hope this helped a bit.

Hello.

I love the new gallery features in WordPress - they look very neat however it seems that when you create a gallery with say 4 images in it, you cant then change the size of that gallery.

I have noticed that when the gallery is inputted you have the boxes in each corner indicating that you can simply drag it to the desired size however when I try it doesn't do this.

Is there any way I can alter the size?

Many thanks

Can anybody suggest a plugin please?

Hi,

I have just started on a blog "romancingdelhi.wordpress.com" and I am highly impressed by some features which WordPress offers.

However I am struggling with the final output of a picture gallery I created. I would like to bring the following link to your attention:
http://romancingdelhi.wordpress.com/2013/06/02/garyaganj-book-market-the-visual-walk-through/

When I observe this gallery, all images are displayed in thumbnail format but the format in itself appears to be completely unprofessional. Contrary to this unruly gallery display, I come across a very neat & well aligned preview for the same gallery on my welcome screen (to which I am redirected the moment I log-in to my WordPress.com account).

NOTE : This pattern of gallery with well aligned thumbnails can be accessed on "Blogs I Follow" page, when "READER" tab is activated. link : http://wordpress.com/#!/read/following/.

I will appreciate your assistance in clarifying my concern as I would like the gallery for my blog to appear with neatly aligned thumbnails (as they are displayed under "Blogs I Follow" page).

Regards
Saurabh Dhayani
