I wanted to try to adapt the clothing style from the Star Wars trilogy for everyday wear. Its meant to be something that makes you happy when you wear it because you know the influence of the aesthetic, not scream "oh yeah im wearing a costume!" Let me know how I did.

What you are describing is exactly one of the ideas I have for it, I just haven't put together that kind of post yet. I want to show how to adapt, say, a Starwars style for real life - and ideally, do it in a way that non-geeks just think "oh, that's cool and unique" not "oh, is that a costume?" I think sicfi and fantasy are awesome fashion inspirations, and a lot of it can be really wearable. To me it can be an inspiration scource much like runway fashion - you're not going to wear it exactly like THAT, but if it strikes you, you wear a more functional version that has the same elements.

I also want to do occasional posts where I see something that is similar to a geeky style (or something from fandom) go mainstream. But I don't want to do too many editorial type features, because I really want it to be 80-90% actual real nerd girl style.

The trick is going to be getting clever about where to take pictures because I can't travel to every con, and I also want to show the less obvious aspects of nerdy geekiness.

Nerdy chicks need a blog that celebrates their style instead of normalizing it.

Suggestion: Have you thought of the styles based on sci-fi/fantasy TV/movie/book fandoms? Not just convention costumes, but modified for everyday wear. I'm probably exposing my massive geekiness here, but my style in high school and college was hugely informed by some of my geekier obsessions. Farscape... Lord of the Rings... And I'm still looking for one of those brown coats from Firefly...
I know you know what I'm talking about, right? I may be the only one to admit it, but I know I'm not the only one who does this!

Don't know if you could find pictures of this kind of thing though, since it tends to be more subtle then people showing up to cons in full regalia...

It is meant to be a fashion blog for and about nerds. It takes influence from The Sartorial List and Japanese street fashion blogs like Tokyo Streets, but I am trying to get my street fashion snaps at comic/anime/gaming conventions, gaming tourneys, lan parties, literary events, even smaller things like (if my dork friends let me tag along for their pursuits) the filming of webseries and podcasts. It's largely a photoblog.

I'm open to any advice/critique ect, but I'd be interested to know what you think so far, and if you think the theme is cohesive enough, or if there's anything that you just wish you saw here.

I'm also interested in some suggestions for blogs I might like - I know there must be some out there that are "non traditional" geek blogs - related to geeky things, but not exactly the same type of content I can just get on Kotaku - something with a nerdy perspective but related to other interests or with a personal point of view? I have been having trouble finding things like this through search or tags.

Ph LEVEL // is my only blog, but I'm certainly rather proud of it. I'm currently on the second version of the blog, in which the first version had well over a hundred posts. Ph LEVEL // is a blog dedicated to everything awesome and geek. I post frequently about the latest news for comic book movies, television, comic books themselves, video games, and just about everything a geek could want. :) I review a lot of the new geek related movies and such as well, having been one of the first posted reviews for Watchmen earlier this year. :D

I'm rather proud of the reception my blog has gotten, even being featured on the blog of the creative director for IMAGI Studios, creators of the new Astro Boy movie coming out later this year. But, I could really do with some more support as far as regular commentators go. Haha. . . And also my Clipmarks. If you are a geek, chances are you already know that these are Firefox extensions. My other extensions are there, but not these two. I love my Taboo. I can forget about Clipmarks, but not Taboo. And oh! My Fireshot is also kind of missing. I mean I have it in my right-click menu, but not on my toolbar. I even reinstalled Taboo. My Add-ons folder says it is neither disabled nor uninstalled. How do I get them back? Or rather, how do I access them again?

Also, I need help formulating a bookmarklet. If you succeed, I will link to you in my blog post!

Anyway, I'm just so tired of reading forums and trying to find all the answers to my questions when I get stuck, y'know? Seems like I've been doing that for years!
Anyway, just wondered if I could hire a nice, friendly WordPress smart person to get my blog set up how I want it. It would probably take somebody smart about two minutes. It would take me two months.
I'm a great editor and would be happy to trade out the work. Or I'll pay by Paypal.
