A while ago I purchased a GoDaddy domain through Google Apps and used for my blog in another platform. Now that I migrated the info to my new perifernecentra.wordpress.com and I payed for the mapping, the trouble started.

I changed the name of the servers manually in GoDaddy and WordPress recognize them without problem. I also updated the email settings on the Custom DNS Records section. And then, the website started to show Error 404 Google page.

After I checked GoDaddy I figured was a Google thing, so I logged in the Google Apps and I noticed a section that said "Redirect the naked domain (http://perifernecentra.com) to http://www.perifernecentra.com" which by default was www.

I started to notice that if I entered without the www it will work so, I inserted manually a www CNAME in the Custom DNS Records section, directing google (later, I deleted it and nothing changed). I also tried to change the option in Webmasters Tool that let you work only with www or non-ww depending of your choice (this won't even let me set it, since asked me for verification, even if I had entered it with CNAME).

Now not even the naked domain works. The most irritating thing is that the individual posts work fine, but not the homepage that remains in an annoying Google Error 404 page.

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance

Can someone please help me get my google aps domain name (www.summitmining.com) mapped to my wordpress blog (www.summitmining.wordpress.com)? I have seen what looks like a couple of way to do this. The only one that worked so far is the domain mapping which I purchased and it worked at first glance but then all my google aps (inbox, calendar, docs) went to wordpress blog as well. Any ideas of what I am doing wrong? I switched the dns settings on enom back to default and the email started working again but now the redirecting doesn't.

Depending on where your domain is hosted you could use a CNAME record to alias the forum URL to something like http://forum.musicaquatica.com.

No, you can't use a blog to create a forum. You can make a forum elsewhere and link to it from your blog, though.

I looked at the support description of adding google mail. I have my own domain name atravelerslibrary.com I have the "Get Google MX on the Domain section of Settings, but when I click on it I get a blank page, instead of a place to fill in the code to prove my identity to Google.

The Support section in question is: http://support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/custom-email/

BTW, I cleared the cache and enabled cookies, just in case that was a problem.

Anybody out there who has made this work?
