I've been working on a website for a guitar shop, which basically involved logging into the dashboard and deleting all the old pages, and I started from scratch from there to maintain the same account and domain mapping etc...

However, even though I deleted all the old pages, Google's first results for my website are pages that no longer exist such as "Recent Posts" and things like that. Is there a way to totally wipe traces of these old pages? Photos still appear on Google images as well... I basically just want to have a totally clean slate!

Hi there,

I manage 2 WordPress.com blogs: meeg.org and eaunritchie.org - both on behalf of other people. (Dustin and Ean, respectively).

I have just noticed that my name (Nick) appears in Google search results for either site.

I don't want my name to appear as the 'author' of these blogs. I would prefer no author, or (at least) Dustin / Eaun.

There seems to be lots of (confusing) information about linking Google+ profiles and adding profile pictures, but I would actually prefer to remain a bit more anonymous!

Cheers, Nick

This blog has very little content as yet http://wolframvonostheim.wordpress.com/ Is it the blog you mean?

The WordPress.com search engine indexes post, pages, and comments content (body text). Unless entered as text in those contents, blog name, post titles, and post/comment author names are not indexed. http://en.support.wordpress.com/wordpresscom-search/

It can take weeks for search engines to index your blog. It's publishing posts, not pages that attracts search engine attention.

The process we use for verifying free hosted WordPress.com blogs with search engines is found here > http://en.support.wordpress.com/webmaster-tools/

Note: Even if you do not verify the blog the content will be indexed by search engines so don't feel panicky about this please.

WordPress.com provides the search engines with site maps. We bloggers do nothing. http://en.support.wordpress.com/sitemaps/

I have recently posted a new blog in wordpress.com, but it does not appear as a result when searching for it in wordpress search using the tags I have set up.

I do not know if it has been flaged as mature or not.

I do not know if it has been considered to violate some copyright, since it contains a poem that uses the lyrics of several songs including Darlington County by Bruce Springsteen, Waiting for a Train by Jerry Lee Lewis and Blitzkrieg Bop by the Ramones. In this case it would be my best intention to rewrite the poem file and to include copyright notices about these authors at the end of the poem.

I even do not know if it has been considerad as offensive for someone, since it also contains the lyrics of the national anthem of Germany. In this case I sincerely apologize for posible damages to anyone, but I think this would not be a sufficient argument to rule out the poem.

Finally I would like to thank you very much for your kind attention

WordPress.com is a blogging platform with a search utility for in house use; it's not a search engine. All the posts under categories and tags are there but having over 35 million of us using the Topics pages to search the history of any tag would be a huge waste of resources. Google's in the search engine business. They have zillions of server farms and the information is all available there.
