It happened to one of my sites a week ago, and then suddenly again last night on my other site...which makes no sense, since they're two different themes! And I did nothing out of the ordinary (that I'm aware of) to make this happen...I just added two different images from two different files on my computer.

I also cannot remove the gray box. Then when I tried to add an image to my other blog site today (Coraline theme), the gray box appeared again, and now I can't change alignment or size there, either! Help!

I read that last night, and again just now- but I'm afraid it has not helped me fix this. It looked for a moment as if perhaps I had too much text in the widget area, so I delete almost all of it- but it changed nothing. The featured photo itself is not stretched. It's the right size and in the right place. But the "gray box" it sits in is stretched down the page, and it looks like maybe the widget text placement is tied to the bottom of that box. Any more ideas?

I have no idea what I did. Somehow I managed, while changing featured images, to get the gray featured image box stretched out. The image shows up at the right size in the right place. But the text in the widget space next to it gets pushed down the page and the whole front page looks ridiculous. Any help fixing this would be very much appreciated.
