I recently had some strange activity on the wordpress site so I uploaded some plugin's to assist with hackers. It suggested changing the permalink for the log in which I did. I also changed the password.

Now when I got to the new log in page and enter my password it takes me to my website... no dashboard. I cant get to the edit mode.

Please help... any ideas would be great.

BTW, the google search is based upon using Ride2Adventure. They generally come up for me at the bottom of the first search page and at the top of the second page.

This site looks fine to me. Pastebin isn't an analysis site; it's just a site where people put up text, often complete bullshit. We commonly see people saying "I totally haxxored u!" when in fact they have not succeeded in doing anything.

The ONLY times I've heard of sites here being hacked they were either hacked by guessing of passwords that were too easy OR they had enabled post by email and their email was hacked.

If you're worried, change your password to something strong and never used before and do not email it to yourself.

Sorry, I am saying that my site has been hacked. Some of the hacker sites are also reporting this. For example Zone h and Pastebin show it as hacked. The actual hacker calls him/herself the the 3xp1r3 Cyber Army.

Are you saying your site has been hacked, or that the google results are bizarre? Those are two different issues.

Is there some way to delete objectionalbe material that was posted by a hacker? It does not directly show up on my WordPress site, but if someone googles my WP site, they have a choice to choose answers under my site's name listing wall paper, adobe, or just plain gibberish. If someone clicks on the link, they will find objectionable material (war/political). I have a few of the links, but I defer to posting them here unless necessary or requested to assist in their deletion.

We have a strickly G rated site and would like to find a way to get rid of this sort of thing.

Hi - Ever since I created a WordPress profile (my site is still private) I've been getting tons of Spam in my regularly inbox. This gives me the impression that WordPress sells email addresses or somehow makes them public to spammers. Any advice on how to minimize this problem? Thanks!!

if you are careful about security then your blog won't be hacked. If you sign in to WordPress.com via a non-secure Internet connection, like a public Wi-Fi connection at your local coffee shop, your account may be more vulnerable to hijacking. Also from the tenor and tone of your post above I feel you may think your specific blog is being targeted by spammers. That's not likely to be true unless you do approve some spam comments. Over 80% of all sc-called comments submitted to blogs on this .wordpress.com site every day are spam. The majority of all so-called information on the internet is spam. There is not only robotic spam but there are also people hired to leave phony baloney spam comments on blogs so they can get their spammy links approved and posted. I recommend you scroll down this page to "5 things every blogger should know about spam" and read what's there. If you need some help with identidying pingback and trackback spam read this article for tips.

Provided you respect and follow all security suggestions and do not make your log-in information accessible to anyone else your blog will not get hacked. All of our blogs are equipped with Askismet and when you mark spam comments as spam it learns. Also note that 70 spam comments per day is a very low number. http://en.support.wordpress.com/security/

Hello everybody. I have been blogging since November 2011. I've had a good time so far. But of late, I've been noticing a lot of spam comments (the count now is 70). It makes me feel insecure as I fear some pervert hacker sitting somewhere infront of his computer is laying his evil plans to hack my site or do me some harm. Why spam someone otherwise? I have removed 3 different people that have become administrators on my website in the last few days. I don't know who they are, but they post things on my blog site. A "whois" lookup reveals that http://www.meredithbaldwin.com/ is hosted at dreamhost, which makes it a self-hosted wordpress installation.

You need to create a username and get a password over at http://wordpress.ORG/support/ as that is where the self-hosted version of wordpress is supported. They can help you there because they are familiar with the software you are using. We here at wordpress.COM, are not.

I've tried to login to wordpress.org and it tells me I don't exist as a member. So I am pretty sure that I am working with wordpress.com. It's the only site of the two that will let me log in and access my portfolio.
