You can delete any header image from the display you have uploaded here Settings > Header by going for Dashboard > Media > Media Library and deleting it there.

I've fiddled with the theme's "loop-page.php" and "loop.php," but I can't seem to get rid of it. The best I can find is a php function in "loop-page.php" that looks like this:

From what I'm looking at, that looks like the right thing to delete but modifying, deleting or editing that does nothing to the page's headline.

Any suggestions?
