This type of technique is not really possible with WordPress.com. This technique, similar to a popup, is also not appreciated by most readers and violates some standards and laws on web accessibility as the action is not expected nor a standard behavior when hovering over an image.

It would require CSS and some other code to make this work effectively. Sorry.

Something similar to that used on dpreview.com. Basically we can select which settings, if they're available in a photo's EXIF, to display when someone 'hovers' their mouse over the photo - i.e. Camera type, shutter speed, ISO, EV, aperture and shot date & time. I imagine this would be VERY useful for a large number of wordpress users.

Under wordpress settings just a checkbox to enable/disable the feature and then a checkbox next to each of the available EXIF options.

This keeps photo blogs clean instead of having to try to manually add shot information as either a caption or separate paragraph.

My question is simple: I need to either remove or customise the 'read article' link that by default appears when you hover over a post on Oxygen theme.

I have removed the featured picture on each post and I think that has messed up the alignment of the 'read article' link -- it does not appear in line with each post and the space-alignment has gone all haywire. (I might just prefer deleting the link in its entirety if the space alignment is complicated.)

Can someone please help?

Thanks a ton in advance. :)

Thank you for the response. I had to narrow the class of the styling for the content links to eliminate the sidebar conflict -- using .entry-content instead of #main:

.entry-content a:link, #main a:visited {
	color: #247cf8;
	text-decoration: none;
}
.entry-content a:hover {
	color: #8f8f8f !important;

}
.widget-area .widget a:link, .widget-area .widget a:visited {
	color: #8f8f8f!important;

	font-size: 14px;
}

.widget-area .widget a:hover {

The site actually is hosted on wordpress.com. It appears that it is not because of the Domain Mapping upgrade (http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/).

This is happening because the sidebar links have two "!important" CSS declarations targetted at them:

#main a:hover {
color: #8f8f8f!important;
text-decoration: underline;
}

And:

.widget-area .widget a:hover {
color: #000!important;
In this case, precedence is being given to the first CSS code snippet. Deleting the "!important" from the "#main a:hover" declaration will solve this.

I'm using custom CSS on a Twenty Twelve theme and have been having difficulty changing the hover color on the sidebar links. I'd prefer to do it by CSS rather than through the color selector on the control panel.

I had thought the below would have worked:

.widget-area .widget a:hover {
color: #247cf8 !important;
I had though the "!important" would help override the default CSS (it "saved" other customization that wasn't overriding), but no luck. Any suggestions? Thanks.
