Google forum response (from a top contributor) to why my #s are going down: "interlinking of this site with your other sites, as well as many other sites, with dofollow (rank-passing) links."

When I read your forum on dofollow, I found something from 2009 saying this is no longer important. Is that still true? Or should I go into every blog post, find every link, and make them all "rel=nofollow"?

We have never seen anything like this drop in our 10 years of using wordpress. If you know of anything else going on that I should check, I would greatly appreciate it. We are going to be at zero impressions soon if this keeps up.

Here is what we are seeing with impressions per day (peaks):
until April 4th = 2,000
April 4th - April 24th = 1,600 (3 weeks)
April 25th - May 7th = 1,300 (2 weeks)
May 8th - May 16th = 900 (1 week)
May 17th = 700

However, I am still scared to post as I don't know what might have caused this. I suspect it is because I used hyperlinks but I am not sure.
I am new to wordpress and I am running an academic blog where I want to post thematic issues for people interested in development in low and middle income countries.
In my posts I therefore obliged to hyperlink to newpaper articles and papers so as to provide evidence to my arguments.

Can someone out there help and explain to me if hyperlinking is not allowed? I don't want to mess up again.

For example, assume I have a series of posts I would like to run on a given topic. I schedule one post to publish per day. However, all the post are related to each other, and therefore will contain links to each other.

Is there a way to set this up beforehand? So that each article does not have to be modified once it is published, and once the destination link is published?

There is not an option under Colors, so I guess I'd have to do something with CSS customization.

1. Highlight your link text.
2. Choose a color.
3. Keep the link text highlighted.
4. Click to add your link.

Code will look like this in the text editor:
<a href="http://LINK_URL"><span style="color:#red;">LINK_TEXT</span></a>

You'd need the CSS upgrade to change link text color in most widgets.

How do I change it so the text is another color without having to hover the mouse over it?

This would do it for most all links in the site (except titles).

}

If you use the second, look around the site to make sure it doesn't change some stuff you do not want changed.
