It looks like you were using Internet Explorer 7.

If you are using Internet Explorer 9, this means that you have Compatibility Mode enabled, which renders everything like Internet Explorer 7 would. If that is the case, please try disabling Compatibility Mode.

Seems that I can now get it to work in Chrome.......but explorer 8 and 9
seems totally screwed up..........So it working and down to the browser.

Quite why i have no idea.I wonder if I can do a clean install of explorer.....or Ill just stay with chrome.

If it’s still happening, let us know exactly which browser (and version of it) you’re using by checking here if necessary http://www.whatbrowser.org/ and also post any error reports you get.

I am using Explorer and have enabled cookies - I changed my compatability view and it did not help - just made the screen appear slightly different - still can't view Reader

Also when I go into the "Site stats" area where it says

"Did you know you can view enhanced stats on the WordPress.com homepage? " and click in the box..................I get the blank screen with just the two words...........wordpress and menu ( same as before)

Thanks for getting back to me

I have gone through all those details and checked /changed everything you say to do.....and also tried chrome

the results are the same.

The sparkline does not respond as an automatic link I have to righr click on it and select "open link " for it to then take me to this strange page with just two words on it .........Wordpress and Menu
neither work as a link

It has worked in the past.....but sadly no more :)

Reader problem - no blogs showing on the page - just a blank screen - I want to follow these blogs but the Reader does not show anything!

If it is something I need to download, please let me know. If it deals with settings, I will need instructions.

no sparkline response.........when I click on it ....I go to a blank page with just the words
Wordpress and menu on it.
When I click on one it dissapears.

I also get the same page when I try and access more stats from the wordpress .com
site.

I did a lot of reading on Windows 8 and IE10 and the tablet style touch stuff didn't appeal to me at all. (According to my hubby that's what iPads are for ... lol :D) When I have the time to organize what's on this old XP OS I will do the transfer to the new tower.

My Windows 8 package came with IE 10. It sounds as though you should be ok. Windows 8 is over compensating into the social market, in my opinion. Good luck with your new system and consider yourself having another follower on your blog. :)

Thank you for updating us on this. I have a new computer I have yet to transfer my data too. I deliberately chose IE7 rather than IE8 and hope I don't run into this kind of adware trash on it too.

Thanks again Timethief. It appears the offending extension was something called "Coupon Companion" which may have come prepackaged (I literally bought this computer two days ago and have had little time to do much to it, other than load Firefox). The extension can not be removed through IE, it has to be done through the control panel. I also removed "WamJam" and "Wecare."

Thanks for the quick response Timethief. I have recently upgraded to Win 8, which came prepackaged with IE 10 in which I see adds such as this: http://mediapsychology101.wordpress.com/?attachment_id=515

I just tried my page using Firefox and had the same add-free experience of WordPress that I've come to enjoy. This may be because of some of the extensions I have loaded in Firefox. But, I will point out that in the previous version of IE I had used on my Vista machine I did not have the same ad-laden experience. Could this be the result of a change in browsers? My site is pretty basic, so I haven't added any customization to it - just words and graphics.

If those don't address your issue, please take a screenshot of the ad, upload it via Media -> Add New to your Media Library. Then return to this thread to post the file name to let Staff them know it's there for them to view.

Not all ads your see are placed by WordPress.com. Every day we experience bloggers here who are seeings ads that are adware contained in shareware ir. browser add-ons and the like.

If the ads you see are found at the end of blog posts then what you are seeing is WordPress.com generated advertising. Look for the About These Ads link to confirm. http://en.wordpress.com/about-these-ads/

WordPress.com does not use text enhance or text link ads or pop-up ads or links in comments. If you are seeing those then that's a browser-ad-on issue, or in some cases, it's embedded into free games and/or toolbars downloaded from the internet. Hi - Your support page says: "we do not show ads to logged-in readers" and yet as a logged in user I'm seeing ads at the top and bottom of my page, and most recently, built into the text of my blogs (annoying). Is this what is supposed to happen? Thanks for your help.

Just to follow up, the issue where live previews appeared blank in Internet Explorer was fixed a few weeks ago on September 4th.

I'm considering upgrading the Ever After theme. If I do, would I be able to use the "halo Dandletter" and the San Serif Lane narrow" font? If it's not already in wordpress, is there a way to add it?

Currently, there is not an option to add in external fonts. The Custom Design upgrade at WordPress.com comes with a selection of 50+ fonts which are served from Typekit. We may look at adding in more fonts, but it's not something we have planned to do in the near future.

If using the "halo Dandletter" and the "San Serif Lane narrow" font are deal breakers, you'll want to do a WordPress.org setup where you get complete control over all the code to make your own changes.
