I am getting the same, it happened overnight. I have two blogs, brianmetters.wordpress.com and nepalschoolsaid.org
It is only happening on the former, so its not my browser or my settings. Something has happened overnight to cause this.

If you are running one of the browsers and versions listed at http://browsehappy.com please do these four things:

1. Try clearing your browser’s cache: http://www.google.com/support/accounts/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=32050

2. Make sure that you have third-party cookies enabled: http://en.support.wordpress.com/third-party-cookies/

3. Try with all browser extensions or add-ons temporarily disabled.

4. Try enabling HTTPS: http://en.support.wordpress.com/https/

If it’s still happening, let us know exactly which browser (and version of it) you’re using by checking here if necessary http://www.whatbrowser.org/ and also post any error reports you get.

If you are, please do these:
(1) Try clearing your browser’s cache http://www.google.com/support/accounts/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=32050

The same is happening to me. Instead of a Media upload button I have a Add Contact Form button.

The Media upload button has disappeared on my draft draft page.
I can upload image from Media-> Add new , but I cannot import them on my blog entry.

Some hickups on the server side?

Searched the forum . nothing relevant came up..
Adding media (image) to a particular post is not "fully" functional in IE9. No dont tell me to use another browser, or dont give me url to show how its done..

i have figured out how to upload the image but its a long process and is a PITA. I read timethief's response on a post stating "the new system is here to stay".. but my gripe is ... does it improve the user experience..? Nope (spouting)..

Question is do u (wordpress) really care... ??

An Edit Image button should now be visible on the Add Media window, just above the Delete Permanently link.

I've just checked http://brettcaines.wordpress.com/ with IE9 and the menu colors look the same to me in IE9 versus other browsers. Hopefully it's working the same for you now as well. If it's not, then I would recommend re-checking local settings to make sure nothing you have installed or setup is interfering (also, clearing cache was a good first troubleshooting suggestion).

All I can do is make a Title, write a caption, Alt text, change alignment, link it to something and change its size. I can't click on the photo to edit it. There is an edit button, but it lets me do nothing. It was working yesterday morning.

If you need to edit an image by cropping, flipping, resizing, or rotating it, you can do that through the Media Library. Here's how to access the image editing tools:

I have Safari 6.01. The thing is that when I press the add media button, I only have the option to resize my pictures and choose through a gallery.

gunner226 - I just tested cropping an image in Safari 5.1.7, and it worked fine. (The bug with cropping described in this thread was only in IE9.)

Could you please let me know what version of Safari you're running, and try updating your browser if an update is available?

Images should once again be editable in IE9 - you can crop, flip, rotate or otherwise make edits. Learn more about image editing.

I was able to crop images yesterday. I have the Oxygen theme and I can't crop any of my images. All I can do is look at them and post. Pain in the butt.

A month old doesn't seem to be too far gone. My experience with this issue was as recent as yesterday. Pertinent threads can be difficult to locate if not properly described. My comments included more precise problem identifiers that may assist others to identify it as the same issue. The info about working with Google Chrome but not IE9 also identifies an procedure for isolating the problem.
