What you see to the right in the example is not actually inserted into the page, it's the featured image, which you can set following this guide: http://en.support.wordpress.com/featured-images/

I am trying to insert an image into the content section of the home template in the Responsive theme, with text on the left side and the image on the right (exactly as shown in the Responsive theme home template example) and regardless of what alignment I chose for my image, I can only get it to appear above or below the text. Can anyone help me?

I'm having the same problem at brooklynmusic.wordpress.com/ on FF 15.0.1 and Chrome 22.0.1229.79.

I can edit, more or less, but when I click on post-editing buttons like Upload/Insert Media, or (over on the right) try to edit to edit the "published On:" date, nothing happens.

Thanks, it looks like your first suggestion took care of it. I'm also having trouble using the LINK process and this didn't fix it, but I'll try some of your other suggestions. Thanks again.

(1) Are you using the secure https:// login?

(2) Exactly which browser and version of it are you using. If you aren’t sure click here to find out > http://whatsmyuseragent.com/

Note 1: If you are using an IE9 browser in compatibility mode that makes it render as IE7 and IE7 is not supported. To disable see > http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/1196-internet-explorer-compatibility-view-turn-off.html

a. Try clearing your browser cache and cookies > http://www.google.com/support/accounts/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=32050

b. Try using the browser with all extensions or add-ons disabled

c. If applicable try updating the browser to the latest stable version http://browsehappy.com/

d. Make sure third party cookies are enabled on the browser http://support.google.com/accounts/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=61416

e. Also confirm JavaScript is enabled http://www.google.com/adsense/support/bin/answer.py?answer=12654

I've been using my chickadeeworkshop blog over 3 years and know how to insert images in my blog. As of yesterday, however, when I click on the upload/insert button, nothing happens. If I right click and click OPEN I can get the windows to open, but when I hit the final button to insert the images I get a blank screen. The I have to hit the back button or close out the site altogether and then my image is not there. I have tried this in both IE and Chrome. Both have worked fine before, but neither is working. I really need some help here.

PS - After saving/refreshing the page the image showed up in the editor.

I had tried the cache/cookies prior to writing this and checked my browser version. I just switch to the https:// and that seemed to do the trick! It still is acting a bit weird (I couldn't see the image I added in the editor but I could in the preview) but at least I can get the images in there.

Thanks for the help, I try to get all my posts written Sunday for auto posting during the week, I was starting to panic!

Have you tried these things?
1. How are you connecting to the internet and to WordPress.com? The way you connect to the internet (mobile, satellite, DSL, dial-up) and to your blog, and how many proxy server jumps etc. it takes to connect can cause problems. There maybe be problems with your ISP and/or with the proxy servers.

2. Are you using http:// or https:// see http://en.support.wordpress.com/https/

3.Which browser and version of it are you using?

4. Have you tried clearing your browser cache and cookies? http://www.google.com/support/accounts/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=32050

5. Is your browser version up to date? You can upgrade any browser version here.

I cannot get images from my media library to my blog! When I press the button to attach the image to the post the media library pop-up window turns white and nothing happens. This is new since the upgrades to the site, I've always been able to click & add with ease before. I am totally frustrated!!!!!!!

Quick Edit: THE ADD IMAGE BUTTON IS WORKING AGAIN, HALLELUIAH!

I've struggled with one particular image which will not show up no matter what I do. I know I have the url correct, and I've tried everything, even slightly rearranging lines in the code...normally something I would not do, but hey, I'm desperate... What could be wrong with this url?

Writing HTML the "webmaster" way is tough for those of us who were never adept at doing that to start with... But till those of us with the add-image woes get our issues resolved, I guess that's our only option.

Problem shown on "Actualités" page.
1st text line "Le fort des ..." and top image no problem

2nd text line "Vue sur la citadelle...", impossible to get this line close to the second image, after registering the text returned to the first (top) image. Only after use of trial and error method during at least 30 min I managed to get the text at the right place as shown on the page.
Hopefully my answer is clear for you.

Your bio should be a static page, not a post. See here:

To add an image to your sidebar, you go to Appearance>Widgets and activate an Image widget.

But the sidebar is common to all the dynamic pages of your blog. If you only want the image next to your bio, you must insert it in the main body of the bio page: click the "Add an image" button of the page editor, upload the image, set its alignment to Right, insert.

or do I need to unlearn various GUI conventions? All I want to do is post a small thumbnail pic of my mug in the right hand column next to my prof bio. I don't eant the pic to appear next to evey post, nor do I want it to appear in that position on every page. Just one pic, next to this post on this page. unless the OP have already purchased a CSS upgrade feature, they could go with *inline* style margin attribute. not being the best practice, it's free though. it should be something like:

Hello and sorry for bad english...;-)

I've just started my blog wegbegleiter.wordpress.com and inserted an image. Uploaded it from my computer, inserted it, clicked the picture symbol, set the alignment to: left and the vertical and horizontal space to 20. vertical space works fine, horizontal space does NOT work, my writings are directly at the border of the image without space in between. Any help?
