Hi itsrainingpopsicles,

I was able to pin down what happens:
When there is only an image in the post content, WordPress automatically assigns the Image Post Format to the post. Image Post Formats are displayed differently from the rest of the content in Vertigo, they receive a frame and the post title does not get displayed among other things.

There are a few ways you can deal with that:

Add the post title also as an image caption in the media upload dialog
Re-assign the standard post format and update the post
Add some text to the post, to prevent it from happening

As a last resort you could also look into switching to a theme that either does not support the Image Post Format or displays it in a more suitable way.

I'm sorry that I don't have better news.

i tried it yet again. on my macbook, i am enter a title and it will appear...but only if the photo is not posted, also. it will not post both.

Yes. I have to post the title sentence on my iPad and then rush to my MacBook and edit/post the photo. I keep testing to see if I can do it as in the past...only using the MacBook. But I cannot. Very disappointing.

Your theme supports various post formats. That post is using the "image" format. Edit it so it is a "standard" format and I believe you will then see the whole post on your front page.

I don't like it that our homepage: nextstopsenegal.wordpress.com collapses the post on the front page. How can we change that so it shows the entire post?

I see no setting to adjust or support document online dealing with this problem.

until a month ago, vertigo was working well. suddenly, it would not include the title in the post. for me, the title becomes the caption for the cartoon i post. the only way i can get it to work is to post the title on my ipad. then edit that blog entry with my macbook by inserting the photo of the cartoon drawing. this happens when using chrome and safari. and when using the ipad only, it deletes the title when the photo is included.

how can i get back to having the post i submit be published as submitted the first time? it is unreasonable to have to use two computers to post one blog entry.

I'm using the Manifest theme and would like to post animated gifs. The problem is that the gifs only animate when I am using the "image" post format; in any other format (including standard) the gif will show up as a static image (not a resizing issue). However, when using the image format, there are no post titles and it is difficult to have formatted text in conjunction with the image. Essentially, I'd like to work out how to either:

have gifs animate in standard posts (my preference)
or alter the image format to allow post titles and a bit more text

Sorry if it's somethign really easy and I'm just being dim. Thanks!
