To do this, forget pressing return repeatedly, and forget the above Support doc that says nothing relevant. What you need is to cancel the wrap-around effect where appropriate; switch the editor to Text (=code), delete the extra paragraph breaks, and paste this after each accompanying text:

That's an unfortunately side-effect of editing. Browsers place images relative to text, but the editor may be a bit narrower than your theme with a different and possibly smaller font.

What you wind up making layout-wise in the editor may not translate accurately on the blog where it's probably a different width with different fonts.

Instead, try these tips for aligning your images: http://en.support.wordpress.com/images/image-alignment/

f you are not running one of the browsers and versions listed at http://browsehappy.com/ please try upgrading or switching first.

Hi people.

Im in need of some help. This is my page that ive created. I wanted to have one image and then place text to the right of it, and then underneath that another image and place text to the right of it - so kind of a list of pictures. This is how my page ended up looking in the end.

http://whatsjoeuptonext.wordpress.com/1st-person-films/

Now to get the images to look like this took alot of time and frustration. It seems that if i placed the images in this order in normal edit mode, once I clicked "update page" in normal mode it would then load and refresh only to display my images all over the place along with the text. The only way I got it to look neat like it is now is by editing in "distraction free mode", pressing the update button in there and leaving it at that. . however if i now want to ever go back into it to add another film review, it will not show my current layout, but instead the images will be all over the place along with the text.

Any ideas why it does this? Its almost like as soon as I press update its formatting the page in a certain way and its not saving it in the current layout. ?

Hope this makes sense lol

I can't figure out how to cause images to appear using the same blog if that blog appears as a "Latest Post" and also as an asice post. Theme being used is "Morning After." That is, I have one post which has a Featured Image and, when I save it as Standard Format, it appears as the "Latest Post" with the accompanying image as wished for. When I save it as Aside Format, it appears with the other Aside posts as wished for: with an appropriate thumbnail w/o any image manipulation on my part. Now, I have a second post which has a different Featured Image; when I save it as Standard Format, it appears as the "Latest Post" with the accompanying image as wished for. But when I save it in Aside Format, I can't get a thumbnail to appear with the post. And the help/support info is nonexistant for this. Anyone got an idea?

I have figured that part out to use an image widget but there is no place for me to add the blank option in so that when they hit that it will open up a new page. Is there a way to do that without having to write in HTML code?

yes - I've given up with the insightpl one for now, would rather people saw something rather than a blank space!

I did upload the images - via the built in application. The images register in my media library but are not showing up. Whenever I follow the URL the page won't load.

is this a widespread problem or could it perhaps just be an issue with the theme?

Hi Everyone

I've checked out various other forum topics, but can't see whether or not this is a wide-spread error or something I'm going wrong. I have a blog set up on wordpress.com here

http://caseclerks.com/

I uploaded a custom header image via the wordpress header app - I sized the image to match the header exactly (so no cropping needed).

However, now when I try to load the page the header shows up as blank - the images in my media library are also blank, although the URL shows up (http://caseclerks.files.wordpress.com/2010/03/case-clerks-wp-header-copy1.jpg).

I tried re-uploading everything - when you get to the page which says 'here is your new header' there was nothing but a blank space where the header image should have been.

I am not using custom CSS - just the built in custom header app using the Ocean Mist theme on both blogs. I have tried looking at the blogs in various different browsers and on different PCs, but still the header image does not show up!

does anyone have any idea what might be causing this?

if it's an unsolvable problem, is it possible to simply host the image on another site and link to it directly?

thanks in advance

These images worked fine yesterday, with my version of WordPress. Now they are no longer viewable in the library or in the browser.
As well, I can no longer upload any images to the library, via the flash or one file at a time. It shows the image as uploading, and then it is not there.

I have tried going to default permissions, I have tried all of the things people suggest, deactivating all the plugins, etc.

I cannot view these in any browsers.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Link to your blog please, starting with http:/ ?
Did you import posts from a different blog and then delete the other blog? Images are not moved over. It may look like it at first, but that's only because the image URL is still with the old blog and still working. When you "move" a blog all images must be uploaded and inserted again.
