Is that what you want to do, or were your trying to make a bigger adjustment of the entire width of the theme?

It might have to do with WebKit not supporting it, which is used in Safari and Google Chrome.

Can you try Mozilla Firefox? I just tried 16.0.1 and the resize handles appeared for me.

This was very helpful because my posts include several images and I play around with their size and layout before publishing. Right now, I have to go to the Edit Image button and it only gives me certain size options. I'd really like to easily see the size changes for the images without going into Edit for each one. Is there a way to get that sizing arrow back?

If you want to scale images and such, I recommend using Posts -> Add New.

Through my basic CSS customization I've achieved the look that I want.

With one exception... The page background image that I am using is static and doesn't resize automatically to fit the width of the window like the header image does.

I've tried a bunch different CSS code to accomplish this and this is what I'm using at the moment (to no avail):

Some stuff I've read is telling me that this kind of customization would only be possible if I self-hosted the blog.. SAY IT AIN'T SO! I'm new to all of this and wouldn't want the extra responsibility (and headache) of self-hosting when all I want is such a simple tweak.

When I look at the editor the photos are the sizes I'd made them (often 235 x 235), instead of 400 x 400, but the images show up in the published post 400 x 400.

Looking back through my posts this seems to be a consistent display problem; there seems to be glitch of some kind. Has anyone else been having a similar issue? Anyway to fix this?

It’s very easy to do. Dashboard -> Users -> Personal Settings -> then scroll down to Account Details. Then scroll down to where it says ‘Website‘ select the URL for your primary wordpress.com blog and then save changes.

Now every time you sign into the forum we can all click on your username and your blog will be linked to it. And every time you leave a comment on a blog your username can be likewise clicked and your blog can be instantly located.
