Maybe I´ll try out coraline and get some help with the CSS part. I have a good feeling that things will work out just fine. It´s just been a bit frustrating trying to figure these things out.

Kubrick is a difficult theme to work with in CSS, because you first have to create a new background image for the content/sidebar area and the CSS in it is quite strange to work with in some respects.

Since your comics are 1000px wide I would suggest going with a theme that has either no sidebar or the option to not have a sidebar. Over 40% of people are still on 1024px wide monitor resolutions so a 1000px wide image and a 200px wide sidebar means the would have to scroll horizontally to see the sidebar and horizontal scrolling is not something people like to have to do.

It would be much easier to start with a wider theme that has a "one-column" option with a footer widget area such as coraline and then modify that through the CSS for the look you want.

Hi,

I´m having some problems with my blog and can´t seem to find a solution so I figured I´d try here.

I have a comic blog (it´s in finnish, sorry :) ), and it would be ideal to have my pictures in their original size already at the front page. Now my readers have to click on the images to see them in their full size. I´ve been browsing through the themes but couldn´t really find one that had settings for this, or else I just couldn´t figure it out.
I´ve been using Kubrick as a theme.

Now I finally purchased the custom CSS, but I´m not sure what to do next. I guess I could ask around for someone familiar with CSS, but if there is some simple solution for my problem found here I would be most grateful.
I also hope that the solution would apply on all the published images on the blog, since there are over 500 of them already.

Thank you!

Hi there,

Situation:

I have a Graphic Design Portfolio PAGE (not a post) with my posted work samples on it (bunch of Image thumbnails in rows – individual images, not a gallery).
The Image thumbnails are linked to Posts (link url: Post URL) via Media Library. That creates an Attachment Page for each image. If you click on the image thumbnail, it takes you to that newly created Attachment Page, where visitors can comment on the image, you can add description and so on…

Problem:

On the Attachment Page the Image is too small and you have to click it again to get to the Original size. The image's width is restricted to 300px for some reason. I want to change that to e.g. 900px, I don't need the original size to show up, but at least as large as my site's width allows it.

Basically, I click my Image thumbnail and it takes me to a little bigger thumbnail, then I have to click that thumbnail again to get to the larger size. That doesn’t work for me.

Question:

How to control the size of the Image on the Attachment Page?
How to edit the Attachment Page (side bars, comment section etc.)?

Thanks!

Attachment pages display images at their full size. The only way that I know of changing this is with the paid CSS upgrade. I don't know of many people who use attachment pages so it might be an idea to make your pictures link directly to the image file itself. My browser (Firefox) autosize images to fit the screen if they are too large with an option of zooming in/out if the user wants to.

I'm using "image galleries" to organize and display photographs on my blog (http://ghostofkarlmarx.wordpress.com/mongolia-highlights/), but I'm having trouble getting the images to appear in the size I'd like when viewed as an "attachment page."

All the images in my galleries are on the larger size, the long edge is 980 pixels. This size is perfect for landscape oriented images (http://ghostofkarlmarx.wordpress.com/mongolia-highlights/moneyshot-16/), but not for portrait oriented images (http://ghostofkarlmarx.wordpress.com/mongolia-highlights/locals-waiting-at-the-sainshand-train-station-to-pick-up-passangers/). With portrait oriented images, this size makes it so that people visiting the website can't view the entire image at once, they have to scroll up/down.

I'm trying to figure out how to change the size that portrait oriented images appear on an attachment page for a gallery. I don't want to simply resize the images, because I'd still like the full size image to be available (and because that's a really ghetto way of solving this problem), I simply want to be able to adjust the size at which the images display on the gallery's attachment page.

Here's what I've already tried: In the media menu (under "settings"), I've set the "Large Size" images to have a maximum horizontal length of 940 and a maximum vertical length of 680. This only seems to have an effect, however, when I insert images directly into a post. This setting isn't having any effect on my galleries' attachment pages.

I believe I'm having a similar issue, although it doesn't seem that the update has taken affect on my page. I've resized all of my images, but for some reason on the top image (under "latest") seems to be cut off here: http://asrai7photography.wordpress.com/

Is there anything I can do to correct this? Or do I need to report the problem as well?

Any information is appreciated :)
