Hello, I know, I know I have read about 50 'changing the header' size threads... I want to make the required 960 width to a 1100 width. I have already made the canvas/body/container to the 1100px. Although, there is that little div#.post-link sq thing that shows up on Firefox... not sure how to get rid of it. I could fix it if I could edit the HTML, but don't know how to override it in the css. Any help would be greatly appreciated. As with other posters, the dang WP automatically causes me to crop it too...

Thanks again,

There seem to be several glitches in the visual editor that are driving me crazy. I want to add an image linked from a URL and add a caption and a border. When I add the caption only or the border only, it works. When I add the border second, the image aligns right within the caption box. When I switch between html and visual and back, all the text in my post goes into the caption. I go back to html and fix the problem. Then I try adding the caption second. The whole picture disappears. If I try to use Zemanta, there are even more issues. I've tried editing from multiple browsers (explorer, Firefox, chrome. I've tried several computers. Is there somethign with my theme (modularity light) that causing this? Is anyone else suffering these extremely annoying issues?

Hey,

as far as I can see, text that looks like a latex formula on a wordpress.com blog gets automatically parsed to an image.
I am posting to wordpress with org-mode and org2blog, an external utility that uses the xml-rpc interface.
I would like to use the latex-parsing capabilities provided in these packages rather than the automatic wordpress latex parsing.

Actually it all works pretty well (the resulting images get uploaded via xml-rpc and included into the blog post), except that org-mode includes the original latex code in the alt=".." element of the <img> tag.
apparently wordpress subsequently tries to parse this very alt-text as an latex image which obviously goes wrong and messes up the formatting.

In general I think it is undesirable that the alt-element is parsed (a bug?) but in my concrete example it would suffice to disable automatic latex parsing in the wordpress blog. Unfortunately I could not find any such option in the admin interface.

Thanks in advance for any help,
Daniel

Hey hey,

I just started a photoblog and I was wondering about the next thing.

I only have about 3? gig to upload pictures but I think at some point I'll reach that.

So, is it better or not to upload my pictures to Photobucket and link them to my blog or not?

Thanks again. Is it possible to select the img used for the thumbnail to avoid the clipping which happens automatically. Have read through other posts as well as the link mentioned above by @sandrapawula can can't see an easy obvious solution that does not involve making changes to the CSS.

Thanks, that is an awesome invitation and I am very appreciative. Panos has beat me to the punch though, lucidly explaining all of the above in his most recent entry called Featured posts/images in Inuit Types
April 26, 2010

except for Single Post Feature Image (unless he's answer my question in the meantime :-) )
