This is what I tried.. I have a Tumblr blog with 6,100 posts .. I have lost my trust in Tumblr and have a distaste for the overall atmosphere. So I moved Tumblr to WordPress with the hopes that the XML file could be converted on the WordPress2Blogger site.. However, my XML file is 17 mgs and WordPress2Blogger only allows 1 mg.. So Now I am back in the same boat again.. not sure how to get this site to move.

Hi this is what I thought but I never see the option "Download and import file attachements". In the old site, the images were added to posts using the add media button and uploaded this way.

When you import, choose "Download and import file attachements" and they will automatically be downloaded from your old host. See Import — Support — WordPress.com for specifics.

Now, this works if you have uploaded and embedded the images properly in the old site. If the links are relative or poorly linked, they may not all transfer over.

I am moving a self hosted wordpress blog back to wordpress.com and I see how to run an export on my current blog. When I do an import from wordpress.com I do not see an option to download attachments. My question is how do I include the post images in my import? When I do an import now the images are there but they still point to the media on my self hosted account so when thats gone the links will be broken, how do I import posts with images?

Haven't had a problem importing images before but now something is up! Got a new computer and things are weird. Using Lightroom (on a Mac) and exporting at 1024 pixels ... image is sharp as a tack in my editor and actually looks pretty good in the media import area ... once it's in the actual post it looks pretty crappy! What's going on?

The blog that is specified in your WordPress.com profile appears to have been deleted; is there a current WordPress.com blog to which you have recently made this import? I'll be happy to take a look at that for you and see if I can't figure out what's going on.

When I import my posts from Tumblr to WordPress, more than HALF of my posts are lost in the transfer. Out of say 1000+ posts on tumblr, only about 300-400 of them will make it to my wordpress account, even if it says that all 1000+ posts have been imported. I didn't even try to do a transfer to blogger. The transfer from Tumblr to WordPress is frustrating enough.

I've been here seven years and I've been answering this question all that time. You cannot imagine how many times I've seen it.

In most cases when people don't post again it's because the problem has been resolved, actually.

Thank you for responding. I hope you understand how frustrating it is when you find a December 2012 thread about the same issue that didn't get any responses. The girl's been waiting for half a year; I suppose she gave up eventually. I wondered how long I would have had to wait myself. Please believe that I took as much restraint as I could muster just to wait three days to post again.

Hi. I just want to cancel my WordPress.com to WordPress.com import. It's been stuck at "Processing..." for more than 3 days. Please please please just cancel it for me.

I've posted about this twice in this forum (one after 12 hours of being stuck, and one after 3 days of being stuck) and watched while all the issues posted before and after me were addressed, but I don't even get a "This is a tough problem so please wait X days for a solution."

Or can somebody just say "It's impossible to cancel it." Just tell me something, please.

I also found another post from another blogger dated December 2012, same issue, and she was never replied to. Wow.

Is the only way for me to do this just open a new blog and try importing THERE, and totally abandon the one I'm trying to import to right now? Please just let me know so I can stop waiting and stop asking for assistance. Thanks.

aha I fixed it! I had posted a few test entries - I just deleted them, then imported again, and it worked this time :)

I exported my blog from Typepad and imported to wordpress. I got an email saying the import was successful but i can't see the posts anywhere, (including the unpublished section). The file exported as txt - could that be the problem?

ツール　-> インポート　->　Movable Type と TypePadを選択すると
現在インポートを処理中です。のまま変化がありません。
実際のインポート処理は完了しており記事を閲覧する事は出来るのですが修正作業を行うことができませんので対処をお願いします。
