Ok, I have emptied it again.

This time, try the more manual import method which requires you to upload a Blogger export file. Don't user the direct importer.

Hello macmanx. Thanks for emptying the blog as was told by me on Aug. 6. I just reimported my blog info (posts and comments) and, once again, all posts and comments are completely empty, so I'm back to square-one.

Ugggh....to get an idea of what my content would look like in the blog, I already began filling in posts (about 8 or so)....oh well. The imported posts along with all the corresponding photos were in it, as well as comments, which didn't import properly either. There are also about 8 or 9 pages too. Thanks -- looks like I'll have to start over again...oh well; worse things can happen, right?!? :) Thanks.

No, it doesn't mean that. It means you do nothing and I flag this thread for Staff attention. They you wait patiently until they assist you with this import issue.

Yesterday I imported about 190 posts from my Blogger site to WordPress. The system says it imported the data as well as all user comments. However, when I checked, not a single post's text was imported -- just the title. Does this mean I have to go in and MANUALLY copy/paste all 190 posts from Blogger as well as the comments? This so defeats my purpose of switching and, if this is the case, then I'm staying with Blogger.

f1ofakind, is your blog set to private? If so, the importer page can't view it. You'll need either to make it public while you do the import or to export a file from Blogger and use the file upload version of the importer at the bottom of the import page. You can export your Blogger posts by going to your blog Settings tab and then clicking the "Export blog" link near the top.

Now I can get through past the 'import from Blogger' option, however it comes up with the following message:

We were able to log in but there were no blogs. Try a different account next time.

Can those of you having trouble here confirm whether any of your blogs are set to private? In looking at the importer code, I've noticed that a couple of the blogs seem to require me to log in to view them. When I set one of my test blogs to be viewable only by myself, I can reproduce the error you're encountering. And given the nature of the error, a private blog would seem to be a reasonable cause.

I've tweaked the importer page to handle private blogs more gracefully. Instead of showing a simple error message, you should still see the import page now, with a warning about the blog(s) causing the issue. To import any of these blogs, you'll need either to set it to be publicly viewable during the import or to fetch the export file from Blogger, available under the blog's Settings page (a tiny "Export blog" link near the top of the page).

If you opt to turn privacy off during the import, you'll need to use the "reset importer" button on our import page after changing the privacy setting. You should then be able to import.

I'd be grateful for confirmation that this resolves the issue, or of course for further error reports.

Thanks for your help, but it won't work. Maybe I am doing something wrong, but I don't think so.

When I go to my wordpress tools, and click "import", it takes me to the page with all the different choices of where to import from. I click on "blogger" and all I get is the message "Could not get a 200 response from get_total_results." What does that mean?

When I go to Blogger, I am able to make the export file, but wordpress isn't giving me anything to work with. Are you sure there isn't something wrong with the system? Has anyone else on here that got the same message figured out what to do?

Uploading an export file is one of the options in our Blogger importer. You'll need to seek help from Blogger on how to obtain the export file, but this has worked in the past when then other importer had failed.

I'm not sure how to import from the Blogger export file. And I only want the posts and comments, not everything else. Each time I try to import, I get this:

The importer is working just fine from what I can tell. Would you please try importing from a Blogger export file instead?

I don't know if the importer is operating correctly or not. I have flagged this thread for Staff attention. Please be patient while waiting as this is a 4 day long weekend and they may not get to this thread immediately.

If yours is a large export file then you may have to break it into smaller export files first and then import them.

Every time I select 'import' from the dashboard and select 'import from Blogger' I get the following error. I've tried on several internet browsers and always get the same error. Help!
