Your mouse should change to the Resize pointer (double arrows). Click and drag and you can re-size the box to whatever size you like.

How do I go about increasing the length of the page viewed ie the number of lines?

It's a pain to keep scrolling down all the time for various reasons.
I had it nicely set up before.
