I am unable to access any blogs hosted at wordpress.com from my mobile (HTC One X. Android with Vodafone 2G/3G connection, Mumbai, India). Basically any website with address as "*******.wordpress.com" is simply inaccessible to me from mobile - either from browser or WordPress app for Android. I called up the Vodafone service center but they said they haven't blocked any site so it might be some other issue.

I downloaded a utility Ping & DNS on my phone and tried to ping the address of my blog and it gave me this message

PING lb.wordpress.com (<SOME IP>) <SOME NUMBER> bytes of data
From <SOME OTHER IP> icmp_sep=1
Destination port unreachable

Can some one clarify if this is an issue with Vodafone or some other issue?

I am guessing it may have been resolved by now for I got Airtel a few days back that works good. Incidentally, when I reached home the same evening after checking at store before buying Airtel, I noticed that the photon (Tata) too was working fine!

We have attempted to contact them a few times, but have not heard back yet.

@macmanx, I'm using the 14.0 version of Firefox and IE8...usually I use only Firefox. But now it doesnt open in either of the browsers. I'm however able to open the blog at my office. Even my friends (and readers) are able to view/comment it. Its an issue just with respect to me I believe.

@raincoaster, Yes I am in India. And yes, since i was aware of the Govt. issue I did cross check with my friends (in India) and they are able to open it. Seems like the issue is just with my home system (notebook).

Surprisingly I'm able to open http://www.wordpress.com and publish posts...but cannot view the published entries, the home page and even the dashboard.
Strange problem!

I live in India so your numerous servers in the US are barely of any help to,it seems.
Please fix this problem or give me another solution. It's absolutely ridiculous.

As humans  we are all equal and all deserve the same quality of life. But this can prove to be impossible for some. Many of us put our hand in our pocket each month to spare what we can to help others. 
Yesterday i read an article that got my blood boiling! That india,one on the countries we are donating millions of pounds too, each year are spending it on developing a mission to out of space!  instead of reducing poverty. 
I was infrared to also read that David camaron said england ?are still committed to donating money to India until 2015........Is he paranoid that if he does't commit to still donating  friendships between our country and india will break down? Has he lost his marbles? I am not saying we should pull the plug on all British aid but they do need to find away of getting it to the people who need it. 
Without sounding harsh, I am so upset that that we don't seem to realise how many people in great Britain are suffering from poverty too. Some families have to ask the church for food. Many more people are homeless.  All over Britain homeless shelters are closing, hospital's budgets are being cut but the government is sending our donations in to space. 
We as a country could donate so much more to people in our own country, the old saying charity starts at home! 
David Camaron bangs on about our spending but he's the worst! He is no better than the India government with our money. 

Goodness me I've been a bit mean on old David. Which is kind of unfair and this is all my opinion and thinking.

We are all great at giving to charity but some very important charities in England get hardly any donations. Just google  give to charity uk.
