I and my college students are using the WordPress 3.6 UI testing version and posts are receiving notification of an autosave older than the version in the post editor when visiting a post that has not been edited in hours, days, weeks, or months. All are experiencing this over the past two weeks on Firefox and Chrome browsers.

We edit the post and the warning appears immediately, even before we make any changes on the post.

Is there a WordPress 3.6 tester area in the forum for such reports? Thanks!

We're fixing up some issues with the header bar in Internet Explorer 8, which it looks like you're using. If you would consider it, upgrading to IE9 will give you a better experience: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/internet-explorer/downloads/ie-9/worldwide-languages

Last night when I logged on I noticed the wordpress.com interface has changed. At first I was very impressed but then when I started (or tried) to use it I very quickly realised its a complete nightmare! The navigation bar keeps on jumping around, you can click on the notifications button until you're blue but you won't see your new comments or likes and new blog post layouts in your reader is completely messed up and all over the place. If you think you can scroll down on the reader tab, forget about it because it keeps on jumping back to the top without any prompt from you as the user.

Is anyone else experiencing this problem and how this be reported? I want the old interface back. This new look is really making blogging a horrible experience and what's the point if you can't get to your comments and interact with your own blog community?

Any advise? Am I the only one with this problem? How can I get wordpress.com to investigate?

Any help will be really appreciated! Thanks!

Has the interface for the Twenty-Ten theme changed since two days ago? when I started a new post today and went to add my photos, I noticed several changes in the interface. After I found my way to the media library and selected an image, some of the familiar adjustments for display settings were available, but I found no way to edit the selected photo (crop, flip, etc) which were available last time I was setting up a post.

Additionally, I found no way to set my featured image. Is this just some kind of glitch with my on my end, or are others having similar problems?

If you use the link I described above, the post and page editors allow for inserting all sorts of media with as much text as you like, add tags, categories, and so on.

That new interface is not the only way to post on your blog.

I know! But this new system sucks!
I need the categories, and also to post videos and text together... with this new thing, you can post it separately, which is bad for me...

I also read a message telling me to keep my messages short, "because blogs are made of short posts" or something like that... I need to write freely on my site, without this sizing barrier...

Look at your grey admin bar on top and you'll see your name and gravatar on the right. Hover there to see a list of all your blogs, then a fly-out to (among other things) add new post.

Hello people from WordPress, how are ya? A couple of days ago I went and updated my site and for my surprise I found out that WordPress had a newer posting system/interface.

I wanted to post videos and news and images altogether and now this isn't possible anymore! PLEASE go back to the way that it was before! It seems like you guys are trying to pull a "Zuckerberg" on us, with these random changes and whatnot.

I use Windows Live Writer to make my Posts (or Pages) on my PC then I upload the new Post and do the final check on line. If you have a Mac there are similar programs available.

I have very slow internet connection, and it takes on average 1-2 minutes for dashboard to be completely loaded and functional each time I log in, and another 1-2 minutes for each menu I navigate into. sometimes the page doesn't load at all.

Does WordPress have a 'safe-mode' dashboard, the one like 'switch to html version' commonly found in webmail sites? Or maybe somebody here can share suggestion for alternative way of posting/maintaining the blog which is more friendly for slow internet, such as an excellent blog management software

It sounds as if you are not set up as an admin. I would double check that.

If you are an admin, about the only other thing I have to offer is to log out of wordpress, clear your browser cache and cookies, restart your browser and try again.

There will be some items missing that you might be used to with a .ORG site, such as the plugins tab. We cannot do plugins at wordpress.COM. Also, the only theme files we can modify are the CSS files (if we have the CSS upgrade).

Hi there,
I am a long time wordpress.org user, and new to wordpress.com. I am an admin on this site (we have 2) but I cant see any of the tools down the left hand rail of the admin interface that I would expect to see. Cant see "Appearance", or any of the other admin items when I am in /wp-admin/ . I only see "dashboard" and "profile". Any idea why this would be?

@halina2: This is a peer-to-peer support forum and most people answering here are volunteers. So normally, we would have asked you to fill out the contact form to reach staff. The interface language changes to Polish when I change "Language this blog is primarily written in" to Polish. There must be a bug there.

When I change to "Language this blog is primarily written in" to Polish, the interface language changes to Polish. Now, I don't want the interface lang. set to Polish, because it is such a clumsy translation. So I'd rather keep it in English unless I could translate the interface myself. Any advice?

Thank you auxclass that helps. @ timethief thanks when I saw Premium features I guess I thought it meant like a package deal but from what you say it's a Premium feature that can be ordered a la carte so to speak. I can write HTML and have some resources for CSS (fortunately I don't consider myself on a time restraint!) but I didn't want to assume and be in over my head. I guess it's just about understanding what you're getting into.

There is no upgrade to "premium" unless you are referring to qualifying and being approved into VIP hosting which I sincerely doubt. http://vip.wordpress.com/

Each and every upgrade is for a specific function only, for one blog only, and for one year only, when the upgrade must be renewed.

Purchasing an upgrade does not enable the permission to use advertising, any kind of prohibited code, or upload additional themes and plugins. With the upgrade, your blog will still be hosted here at WordPress.com, which means that you will not have FTP access to your files and must still abide by our Terms of Service accordingly.

If you have CSS editing experience, you can get the paid custom CSS upgrade and renew it annually. It will allow you to stylize the appearance of themes you find here > Appearance > Themes, but it does not allow you to change the functionality, by editing the underlying template. Also note that CSS is theme specific, so you cannot use the CSS stylesheets from other themes with the themes here at wordpress.COM.

Since there is no official Staff support for the CSS upgrade, and precious little Volunteer support, I recommend that you don’t buy the upgrade unless you have at least moderate understanding of HTML and CSS because you must be prepared to do the work on your own. If you are considering purchasing the upgrade, you can go to Appearance > Edit CSS. There wordpress has provided a preview function where you can try before you buy.

Domain Mapping / Registration - you can use your own Domain name.

Custom CSS - you can change the look and feel of the site quite a bit - BUT you need to understand CSS, not hard but not much support here.

Other than that the site works the same, no Premium Widgets, no advertising (unless you are in the high traffic pool, then WordPress has a revenue sharing program a few are trying).

You can start with a basic Sandbox Theme and modify to your hearts content. Sandbox is designed to be modified with CSS.
