Why on earth would you say such a thing? I live in Canada and I'm most assuredly not "a cracker, spammer, and troll in disguise." I have blogged since 2005 and the vast and overwhelming majority of all people of that ilk that I have experienced online were from the USA.

Hi,

I'm in the UK and was wondering if there were plans to extend the SMS / Text Messaging posting service beyond the US?

I used to use Ping.fm for this feature (they had a US and an 'International' number) to post to my wordpress.com blog but it seems to have stoppped working and I can't get any reply from their support services. It'd be great to be able to bypass ping.fm and post directly to my wordpress blog.

Just in case you're wondering, my phone does have limited web browsing access, but I prefer to use the text msg service as its much quicker to use, and if I'm outside of a decent signal area, web access won't work whereas the text service retries until a strong enough signal is found. (i.e. I can write my update wherever I am, when its current, and know that it will get posted later, whereas if I tried to use the web, I couldn't write the post at the time, I'd have to wait till I got a signal).

I also get a large number of free text messages, whereas I have to pay for web access on my phone.

Thanks,
Lozza

I live in Canada, a bilingual country where Customer Service Reps start each conversation by a ridiculous "bonjour, hi?" (You don't know how stupid you feel when you actually have to do that all day long working in a bank).
You have to wait for the client to say either "hi" to continue in English or "bonjour" to continue in French. Some English people will give you a bad look because you weren't able to tell by their looks that they don't speak French, while French folks almost feel offended to get addressed in English.

In press conferences, English people are only allowed to ask questions about 30 min after the French journalists have asked a 100 questions. Last week, a French singer got a rough beating by 10 anglos but this is not a premiere; it happens every year in that area!

The tension is HOT. Where do I stand in all that? I created a blog for both communities, to prove myself and the world that contrary to popular beliefs, English and French people can have a lot in common. It's international. Join the diversity!

I´ll try my question here. Can I read somewhere about International Forums, how it´s suppose to work?
I can´t even find my way aound here in the basic one, since everything changed.
I tried to ask yesterday in the Swedish Forum, http://sv.forums.wordpress.com/topic.php?id=1&replies=3

I´ve also asked in another place http://wordpress.com/blog/2007/02/02/wordpresscom-forums-internazionale/
but it still stands that the questions is awaiting for moderation.

The keymaster mdawaffe, seams to write in English, so I´m a bit confused of everything.

Someone who can explain for me please?

Hi,

International WordPress.com forums have been set up, thank you for that.

I read mdawaffe's note; "PS: Most of the translation was done by real people, but some of it was done by machine; don’t laugh too hard :)"

I think translation of Turkish forums has been made by a machine. :)
How can we change the section name and description of the forum? These are not included in WP.com translation project.

And also, we (WordPress Türkiye community) have prepared translation for bbPress forum system. Can you include the Turkish translation to tr.WordPress.com forums?

Thanks!
Hasan.

http://www.blog.com.np is not hosted at wordpress.com. It uses the wordpress software downloaded from http://wordpress.org.

Please note how I fixed the link to your blog in your post. You can't use the 'www' in the link since your username takes the place of it. Using both breaks the link for 30% of the net and most search engine spiders.

Also note that in the future you may be able to purchase an upgrade and then you may be able to have advertisements on your blog but this is not being contemplated for "free" accounts. Those who post frequently or even daily will be the likely candidates for this future upgrade.
At this point your best bet if you wish to monetize your blog is to either move to self hosting or hiring a webhost and then download a free blog template form wordpress.org.
