This is the main link to all support documentation found at the bottom of your Admin page http://en.support.wordpress.com

1. All WordPress.com blogs are public unless we choose to chnage the blog visibility to private. Type "privacy settings" into the searchbox there http://en.support.wordpress.com/?s=privacy+settings

2. All public blogs can be accessed by anyone who types the URL into their upper browser window and clicks. http://mbr250.wordpress.com/

3. In all blogs the posts are displayed in reverse chronological order on the main page for posts in the blog, which by default is the front page of the blog.

4. f you do not want all the posts to show on the front page, then you can create a static front page “Welcome” for your site and a “Blog” page for posts.
Choice 1 static front page
Choice 2 running page for all posts on front page
Which do you choose? It’s one or the other.
If you choose a static front page then you have to create two pages as I said above. After you do that you go to > Settings > Reading and make the designation change and click “save changes”.

You can see the traffic reported in your stats. See here > http://en.support.wordpress.com/stats/

Your site stats page displays how many followers you have, who your followers are, as well as how many people are subscribed to post comments on your site.

Dashboard > Site stats > Total, 'Followers' , Shares

Click "blog" and when that page opens click "email followers"

P.S. There is no means provided for you to personally identify individuals.

You've missed the point. You've pointed me back to the air conditioning manual of the car. You still haven't described what the car does. I understand the problem. You are so aware of the ins and outs of blogs etc you can't see my problem.

Ok, so lets talk about lobe centers, durations and lift. Something I very familiar with. Know what I'm talking about. I run about 101 deg.

For those help writers.

I'm new to blogging and am stuck. The easiest way to describe where I'm at is by a practice example.

Going trough your help is like a car manual. it will tell you how to change a wheel, fill it with petrol, use the aircon, set the GPS etc.

If you had never used a car before (eg came from Pluto) , this is of no help.

You would need to start of by saying, Cars are vehicles that move people and things around the city. It can take from 2 to 50 people or 0 to 20 tons of material from A to B. One person has to navigate it. It has a range of 400 miles. etc.

OK so where is the explanation of wordpress along these lines.

Does it list my articles daily, weekly, is it open to all or private viewing, how do people find it, can I tell who's has visited my site. ? A one page intro with a few diagrams or flow charts would go a long way to help get the WordPresses design concepts together before I'm told how to create an account and enter a username and password.

Give the article to a computer dummy, if they understand it, well done, you have got it right and potentially a new customer.

If you are not running one of the browsers and versions listed at http://browsehappy.com/ please try upgrading or switching first.

If you are, please do these four things:

1. Try clearing your browser's cache and cookies: http://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/

2. Make sure that you have third-party cookies enabled: http://en.support.wordpress.com/third-party-cookies/

3. Try with all browser extensions or add-ons temporarily disabled.

4. Try enabling HTTPS: http://en.support.wordpress.com/https/

Please let us know how each step goes for you, and which browser (and version of) you're using if you're still having trouble.

Update: some categories can be updated, only some seem to give me errors.

When I try to edit a category, change its description or intro text it ll give me this message.

There is no way to put a permanent list at the top of a category page at wordpress.COM. You will have to create another page and link to it.

You can't have a sticky post on a Category page, sorry. Most Category pages display just snippets, and people can find the newest ones first that way. They won't need to see the much older posts anyway.

Thanks. When someone clicks on the Pharmacists Job in my Catagories Widget, all the jobs do pop up, which is good. What I am wondering is, at the top can I have a main list of all the jobs below it? Would I use a sticky post to do this?

What you probably want to do is make separate Posts, but categorize each according to the type of job, so when people click on Pharmacist Jobs in your Categories Widget, they get a dynamic page including all the Pharmacist Job posts.

A website and a blog are not the same. A post and a page are not the same. Please read this to appreciate the differences http://en.support.wordpress.com/post-vs-page/
Succinctly stated a blog has only one dynamic page to which new posts are added with the latest post on top.

Alright to start, I am very new to this and really need some help! I am using my blog for my recruiting business, mainly to post jobs. So I have a "Pharmacist Jobs" page and have many posts on it. What I want is a fixed list of all the jobs at the top of the page and I have added that list in the text box under HTML in my "Pharmacist Jobs" page, but when I view the site, it is never there! How do I fix this?

Also, is it possible to have more than one page of blogs, specific and separate? E.g. hospital pharmacist posts on one page and retail pharmacist posts on another page?

I would really appreciate any advice to help move my business forward.

When you're editing the page, look near the bottom of the page for "Comments & Pings". Click on the triangle at the left to open it up, and uncheck the Allow Comments option.

Oh, and don't forget to save the page afterward. :-)

What I'm trying to do is make a home page WITHOUT a space for comments (blog). I've followed vivianpaige's advice, but I still get a page with the comments box in it. How do I create a truly static page (one without any invitation to blog -- I'd use the posts page for that). Drakrub seems to have done it.
