Hi Adele,

Before you embark on editing your site's files and Jetpack's files, might I suggest a few resources that can help you learn the ins-and-outs of coding for WordPress? Have a look at the following, to start with:

Sites:

http://codex.wordpress.org/FTP_Clients
http://codex.wordpress.org/Editing_Files#Editing_Files_Offline
http://digwp.com/

Books:

http://www.amazon.com/MySQL-JavaScript-HTML5-Dummies-Computer/dp/111821370X
http://www.amazon.com/Professional-WordPress-Plugin-Development-Williams/dp/0470916222
http://www.packtpub.com/wordpress-plugin-development-cookbook/book
http://www.packtpub.com/wordpress-plug-in-development/book

Now, to solve your original issue regarding the Home Page being blank on Mobile, your theme, Maya Shop, already comes with CSS styles for mobile devices. Have you tried turning off Jetpack's Mobile Theme and looking at your site without it? Since your theme's mobile CSS was specially made for your theme, you might have better results with it than with the generic styling provided by Jetpack's mobile theme. Let me know if that works for you.

FTP stands for File Transfer Protocol, and is a way to transfer files to and from web servers.

Before we embark on modifying the plugin files, may I ask what it is you are trying to accomplish, exactly? What would you like to change in the mobile theme?

Hi Adele,

The Plugin editor in your WordPress dashboard isn't able to access files that are several folders deep. If you want to edit the plugin files, you are better off downloading the files to your computer, editing them there, and then uploading the modified files to your site via FTP. Please note that you weren't pointed to a specific file in what you quoted, you were pointed to a folder where the various files that make up the mobile theme reside. Can you give me the link to the thread in which you were told to edit these files?

Hi, I'm trying to find *this* file in the Jetpack Mobile Plugin so I can customize my WordPress.org site's mobile theme:

"The theme files are in plugins/jetpack/modules/minileven/theme/pub/minileven/. However, if you modify the files directly, your changes will be overwritten the next time you update Jetpack."

So far, I haven't had any luck finding this file... The closest I've gotten has been to click "edit" under Plugins, thence getting to jetpack/modules/minileven/minileven.php and jetpack/modules/minileven.php but no luck finding the mobile module theme!! I know Jetpack has been updated since the reference I quote above was written, so that may figure into my problem.

How can I locate this file? (assuming, of course, it's not unlocatable...)

Thanks,
Adele Hajicek

I just updated jetpack which apparently includes custom CSS.
I had some custom CSS for one of my wordpress.com blogs, and it's been implemented to a different self-hosted blog that's linked to my wordpress account.

This is a disaster. How do I revert this?
I'm pretty pissed. I never told jetpack to automatically alter anything and now my site looks terrible.

I'm trying to locate my backups but this should have never happened.
