Unfortunately, no. We attempted to, but the format that Google provides now is more for archival purposes, not content processing.

Unfortunately, Google shut down Knol on April 30th, and the migration period to WordPress.com has ended.

I believe you can still contact Google to retrieve a copy of your Knol, but it won't be in a format that we can import.

Hi,

I tried to migarte my knols to annontum.. but I am getting an email.. error exporting your knols.. Google takeout stops at 1 MB.. while actual size is approx 19 mb with 1729 files.. please help

Yes, the migration period from Google Knol ended a while ago.

I recommend getting in touch with Google, as they may still be able to get you an importable copy.

I created a WordPress blog to serve as a repository for the articles I wrote as a part of Google's short-lived Knol project. But when I click the link to finish the process, I get one of the following errors:

Sorry, but there was an error with the Google authentication process. Please try again later. (error #918.1)
Sorry, but there was an error with the Google export process. Please try again later. (error #315.1)

So I visited Google's Knol page to manually redirect my knols, but that option is no longer available. All I see is an invitation to download my knols to a file.

Has Google abandoned ship, or is there a solution?

I have the same problem with my pages that were moved from knol. The images were ok, the links are properly migrated to wordpress domains, but at this moment the images disappeared from my pages. For reference just look for any jpg references in one of my pages: http://hitia17.wordpress.com/article/construindo-um-catamaran-wharram-hitia-12wfeilcjqc2f-5/

Basically, it looks like an edit invalidated the HTML around the images. Unfortunately, Annotum doesn't have an HTML editor tab, like other themes, so it's pretty much impossible to fix without deleting the areas and re-inserting the images.

With that said, it is possible that you may be able to just restore from a previous revision: http://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/post-revisions/

When I first imported my mxi history article from google knol last month, the images showed and were matched correctly with the figured legends. I made a few text edits, and now the images no longer show. Instead there's an icon over the legends, but no images. I have approximately 100 images in the article. The images are visible in the Media Library. They were unattached, so I bulk attached them to my wordpress article, but they still don't show up. I would appreciate any suggestions. Thank you. Tim

Can you please try to move them again? There was a technical problem that interfered with some accounts moving their Knols that we have since fixed. If if doesn't work this time please leave a reply here and we'll try a few more things to get it taken care of.

If you have no Knols to import and would like to disable Annotum, simly head to https://gpvprasad.wordpress.com/wp-admin/themes.php and select any non-Annotum theme. :)

I have a question for you: on first glance, it looks like you changed a WordPress.com blog to become an Annotum site, but it also looks that you imported a Knol.

How much content was in the Knol? Was it more than one article?

Hello,

The Annotum themes are designed for specific types of sites, and they use a special type of entry called an "Article" to display information on the front page. Because your site was an existing WordPress.com site, you didn't have any Articles—which means that they would not appear on the front page of your site.

If you want to do this, you'll need to manually convert your Pages (which is what your content mostly consists of) into Articles.

If you would like more information on what Annotum is and how it works, please refer to the official Annotum site, which is http://annotum.org/ .
