Just setting up my first wordpress site- need some help! Trying to create a static front page with a series of large (full screen) images as a slideshow. Managed to create the slideshow but the images are small - how do I make them large, full screen?

Thanks for your information in your second paragraph. Maybe it could be something to do with this.
Cant believe more people have not had this issue.

I used the following code in my settings, send to tab in Google reader

http://despard.wordpress.com/wp-admin/press-this.php?u=${url}&t=${title}&s=${body}
you will notice at the end it allows the URL, TITLE and BODY.

Now i have just worked out a possible sneaky way around it! If i use the following code into my send to settings in Google Reader,

http://www.<yourWordpressDomainName&#62;.com/wp-admin/press-this.php?u=${url}&t=${title}&s=${source}&v=2

then when i am in google reader copy the text body of the post. Then go to send to which goes to WordPress which just gives me title and link then i paste into the post!

Not ideal but seems to get round my problem! If you have any further comments i would much appreciate them.

It is probably failing in a large post because that's a copyright violation, and autoposted material is banned here. You can reblog things, but that only takes a maximum of the first 75 words.

Thanks for the tip. I tried that but it does not function. I make a new post, mark it as Standard, upload it to my Gallery and I use it as Featured Image. It still does not function properly.

Could it be in the settings?

I am experiencing problems with the media size in Twenty Eleven Theme.

The theme tells me to size my Featured Post pictures at leas 1000 x 288 but unfortunately I can't upload that large pictures as my only option after the upload is either:

Thumbnail (150 × 43)
Medium (300 × 86)
Large NOT AVAILABLE (gray dot)
Full Size (584 × 168)

Any idea what is going on? I have tried to set the media size to over 1000 x 288 but I'm not able to.

I'm using the Twenty Eleven theme with Showcase at the moment.
