Since you have over 2,000 posts with over 61,000 comments, you'll need to break up the export. You can use the additional export options to only export specific date ranges.

Since Friday when I've tried to back up my blog, by using the Export tool to save as XML file, I get an error message stating that there is a problem with this feature and that it should be back up and working soon.
