The position and the styling of the comment box varies from theme to theme. On a given theme, you can't change it without the Custom Design upgrade.
If you were a regular here, you would have seen that other users complain when the Comment link is at the end.
You can switch to a different theme; or you can use the read-more tag to truncate the post on the main page, so that one has to click to read the rest of the post (and see the reply field).

I too am interested in moving the "leave a comment" button. It is the only design flaw for this style, many people I have spoken to are unaware of the comment feature because it is located before the actual post!

To WordPress: if you changed the location to be at the end of the post, I think most bloggers would be much happier as it would encourage more interaction!

My blog uses the Chateau theme.

The "leave a comment" button is at the top of each new blog post. I would like it to appear at the bottom or end of each blog post. As it is now, a follower reads a post and if they decide to comment, they have to scroll back up to the top of the post to click "leave a comment" and then a comment box opens at the end of the post. How can I move the "leave a comment" button to the end of my posts?

Thanks so much.

1) Don't read "elsewhere". The wordpress.ORG forum is for self-hosted blogs: different software, different possibilities and restrictions, different problems and solutions.

2) Timethief linked to the relevant Support doc: you probably didn't read it carefully enough. The changes you make in Settings > Discussion become your new defaults, i.e. they apply to posts/pages you create after you've made those changes: they don't apply to already published posts/pages. To disable commenting on an already published page such as the one you linked to, go to Pages > All Pages, hover over the page title, click Quick Edit, uncheck the option " Allow Comments", click Update.

I was able to remove the comments function from my new "Adventure Journal" theme site, but for some reason the text and broken link "Leave a Comment" still appear on some pages (notably, at the bottom of my RSVP page: http://stivershamblen.com/rsvp). Is there any code I can use to remove this? Or perhaps cover it up?

First off, go to settings > discussion and disable comments and trackbacks. That will keep the comment form from appearing on all new pages and posts you create from now on.

All existing published posts and pages will have to have the comments turned off individually, but you can use the post bulk edit and page bulk edit features to do that on multiple posts and pages at one time.

This will hide the "leave a comment link to the left of the page content.

.page .entry-meta .comments {

If you do not want to mess with doing the settings > discussion and the bulk edit thing, add this also to the CSS edit window to hide the comment stuff at the bottom of the pages.

ok - thank you. That did it, although I wish under a photo post I could have the same option. If you have time could you let me know with the Matala theme - which I love - is there any way to have a "like" button on the front page at the end of each post as well? Or with that theme can you only get to the like button by clicking on "leave a comment"?

Thank you again. I have been very happy with the ease of using wordpress and all the support information!

Your top post appears to be published as a "photo" post type whereas the second is published as a "standard" post type. Edit the top post and change it back to a standard post type and I think the metadata will then appear.

The issue is on my blog using matala theme which I just started. In the first post, the categories/tags/leave a comment is at the bottom of the post - after the share items. In the second post it is not there. If I click on the link to just that post, the comment box and like button are there, but the categories and tags are still missing. I have everything set the same for both posts, etc. One thought I had was that I currently have my posts set for 20 lines. Could that last line with categories/tags/leave a comment get cut off if that was not enough lines for that particular post? Here is the direct link to the second post.
Thank you for your help.

Hello there,
Just to confirm -- are both blog using the same theme or not? I'm asking because where these are displayed is dependent upon where the web designer chose to place them on each individual theme. Please post an active link starting with http:// to your second blog so we can examine it.
